Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan memproses informasi anak usia dini melalui aktivitas mencocokkan gambar. Kemampuan memproses informasi merupakan bagian dari perkembangan kognitif yang meliputi perhatian, persepsi, memori kerja, klasifikasi, dan pengambilan keputusan sederhana. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Pelton yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus pada kelompok B anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK X Kecamatan Majalaya Kabupaten Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas mencocokkan gambar memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan memproses informasi anak. Pada siklus I, anak mulai terlibat dalam mencocokkan gambar meskipun masih memerlukan banyak bimbingan. Pada siklus II, anak mulai mampu mencocokkan gambar berdasarkan warna dan kategori dengan lebih mandiri. Sedangkan pada siklus III, sebagian besar anak dapat mencocokkan gambar tanpa bantuan dan menunjukkan peningkatan daya ingat serta kemampuan menghubungkan informasi secara logis. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa aktivitas mencocokkan gambar efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan memproses informasi anak usia dini dan layak dijadikan strategi pembelajaran visual di lingkungan PAUD untuk mendukung perkembangan kognitif anak secara optimal. ----- This study aims to enhance the information processing skills of early childhood students through image matching activities. Information processing is a critical aspect of cognitive development in young children, involving attention, perception, working memory, classification, and simple decision-making. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using the Pelton model, conducted over three cycles in Group B of a kindergarten (children aged 5–6 years) located in Majalaya District, Bandung Regency. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and field notes. The findings revealed that the implementation of image matching activities had a positive impact on the children’s cognitive abilities, particularly in processing visual information. In the first cycle, children began to engage with the activity, though many still required guidance. In the second cycle, their ability to independently match images based on color and category improved. By the third cycle, most children could successfully match images without assistance and demonstrate stronger memory and logical connections. These results indicate that image matching activities effectively support the development of information processing skills in early childhood and should be considered as a practical and enjoyable visual learning strategy in early childhood education settings.
