Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep IPAS peserta didik, khususnya pada materi keragaman budaya. Berdasarkan penelitian terdahulu dan observasi awal, ditemukan bahwa pemahaman konsep IPAS pada materi keragaman budaya masih belum optimal. Peserta didik kesulitan menjelaskan konsep keragaman budaya dan mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penyebab keragaman budaya di Indonesia. Faktor penyebab yang ditemukan pada saat observasi adalah kurangnya variasi model pembelajaran dan pemanfaatan teknologi dalam proses belajar mengajar. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep IPAS peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah menerapkan model RADEC berbantuan game interaktif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain Pre-Experimental dalam bentuk One Group Pretest-Post-test. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 22 peserta didik kelas IV di salah satu SD Kota Bandung. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji normalitas, uji perbedaan rerata, dan uji N-Gain. Instrumen pada penelitian ini adalah soal tes berupa soal uraian. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,001 > 0,05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan rerata signifikan antara nilai pretest dan post-test. Selain itu, hasil uji N-Gain juga menunjukkan nilai sebesar 0,49 yang termasuk ke dalam kategori “sedang”. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model RADEC berbantuan game interaktif berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPAS peserta didik fase B. Oleh karena itu, model RADEC berbantuan game interaktif disarankan sebagai salah satu alternatif solusi untuk membantu peserta didik memahami materi keragaman budaya. This research is motivated by the low understanding of the concept of science and natural sciences among students, especially in the material of cultural diversity. Based on previous research and initial observations, it was found that the understanding of the concept of science and natural sciences in the material of cultural diversity is still not optimal. Students have difficulty explaining the concept of cultural diversity and identifying the factors causing it in Indonesia. The causal factors found during the observation were the lack of variety of learning models and the use of technology in the teaching and learning process. Based on this, this study aims to determine the improvement in students' understanding of the concept of science and natural sciences before and after implementing the RADEC model assisted by interactive games. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest. The sample used in this study was 22 fourth-grade students at an elementary school in Bandung City. Data analysis was carried out using normality tests, mean difference tests, and N-Gain tests. The instrument in this study was essay questions. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed an Asymp. Sig. value (2-tailed) of 0.001 > 0.05, which means there is a significant difference in the average between the pretest and post-test scores. In addition, the results of the N-Gain test also showed a value of 0.49, which is included in the "moderate" category. Thus, it can be concluded that the RADEC model assisted by interactive games has a significant effect on improving the understanding of the science concepts of phase B students. Therefore, the RADEC model assisted by interactive games is recommended as an alternative solution to help students understand the material on cultural diversity.
