Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji permasalahan rendahnya kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I sekolah dasar, seringkali karena kurangnya variasi metode dan media pembelajaran yang menarik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi-eksperimen desain Non-Equivalent Control Group Design, Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN Sindangsari 04, Kabupaten Bekasi, melibatkan 25 siswa di setiap kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test, post-test, dan observasi. Selama intervensi, kelompok eksperimen menerima pembelajaran Metode Global berbantuan media roda huruf, sementara kelompok kontrol menggunakan Metode Suku Kata. Data pre-test dan post-test kedua kelompok terkonfirmasi berdistribusi normal dan homogen, memvalidasi uji parametrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengaruh positif signifikan Metode Global berbantuan media roda huruf terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa. Ini didukung nilai signifikansi uji regresi 0,001 (p < 0,05) dan koefisien determinasi 38,9%. Nilai rata-rata post-test juga menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan; kelompok eksperimen mencapai 86.00 berbanding 76.60 pada kelompok kontrol, dikonfirmasi melalui uji independent sample t-test. Analisis skor N-Gain lebih lanjut menunjukkan efektivitas tinggi (63%) untuk kelas eksperimen dan efektivitas rendah (21%) untuk kelas kontrol. Secara kolektif, temuan ini menegaskan bahwa Metode Global dengan media roda huruf merupakan strategi efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa, menekankan pentingnya alat pengajaran interaktif dalam literasi dini. ----- This study examines the problem of low initial reading skills in first-grade elementary school students, often due to a lack of varied and engaging learning methods and media. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. This research was conducted at SDN Sindangsari 04, Bekasi Regency, involving 25 students in each experimental and control group. Data were collected through pre-test, post-test, and observation. The average value post-test also showed a significant difference; the experimental group achieved 86.00 compared to 76.60 in the control group, confirmed through a t-test. independent sample t-test. Further N-Gain score analysis showed high effectiveness (63%) for the experimental class and low effectiveness (21%) for the control class. Collectively, these findings confirm that the Global Method, utilizing letter wheels, is an effective strategy for enhancing students' early reading skills, highlighting the importance of interactive teaching tools in early literacy.
