    Abstract

    Pemahaman konsep luas daerah lingkaran tidak hanya menuntut keterampilan prosedural, tetapi juga kemampuan berpikir konseptual yang berkembang secara bertahap. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tahapan berpikir siswa dalam memahami konsep luas daerah lingkaran berdasarkan teori APOS, mengidentifikasi karakteristik jawaban pada setiap tahap, serta mengungkap faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus terhadap 34 siswa kelas VIII di salah satu SMP di Kota Bandung. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) yang dirancang sesuai dengan indikator tahapan teori APOS, yaitu aksi, proses, objek, dan skema. Data tambahan diperoleh melalui wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh siswa mencapai 100% tahap aksi, 79,4% mencapai tahap proses, 50% mencapai tahap objek, dan 29,4% mencapai tahap skema. Siswa kategori tinggi menunjukkan pemahaman yang utuh dari aksi hingga skema, siswa kategori sedang umumnya berhenti pada tahap proses atau objek, sedangkan siswa kategori rendah hanya mencapai tahap aksi. Analisis mendalam terhadap enam subjek mengungkap perbedaan karakteristik berpikir di setiap kategori. Selain itu, ditemukan lima faktor utama yang memengaruhi tahapan berpikir siswa, yaitu kemampuan dasar matematika, kemandirian belajar, kepercayaan diri, pemahaman representasi visual, dan pola pembelajaran sebelumnya. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya peran guru dalam merancang pembelajaran yang mendorong perkembangan berpikir siswa secara bertahap dan menyeluruh. Understanding the concept of circular area requires not only procedural skills, but also conceptual thinking that develops gradually. This study aims to analyze the stages of students' thinking in understanding the concept of circular area based on APOS theory, identify the characteristics of answers at each stage, and reveal the factors that influence it. The research used a qualitative approach with a case study method of 34 students of class VIII in one of the junior high schools in Bandung City. Data collection was conducted through Learner Worksheets designed in accordance with the indicators of APOS theory stages, namely action, process, object, and scheme. Additional data were obtained through interviews and documentation. The results showed that all students reached 100% of the action stage, 79.4% reached the process stage, 50% reached the object stage, and 29.4% reached the scheme stage. High category students showed complete understanding from action to scheme, medium category students generally stopped at the process or object stage, while low category students only reached the action stage. In-depth analysis of the six subjects revealed differences in thinking characteristics in each category. In addition, five main factors were found to influence students' thinking stages, namely basic mathematics ability, learning independence, self-confidence, understanding of visual representations, and previous learning patterns. This finding emphasizes the importance of the teacher's role in designing learning that encourages the development of students' thinking gradually and thoroughly.
