    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal materi lingkaran, mengidentifikasi learning obstacles yang berkaitan dengan kemampuan koneksi matematis, serta merancang desain didaktis untuk meminimalisir hambatan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan desain penelitian DDR. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 35 siswa kelas VIII di salah satu SMP di Kota Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa siswa tidak memiliki kemampuan koneksi matematis yang baik dikarenakan belum ada yang dapat menguasai tiga indikator yang dikemukakan NCTM. Hambatan yang teridentifikasi meliputi hambatan ontogenik (motivasi dan kesiapan rendah, kurangnya keahlian pada perhitungan, kurangnya pemahaman prasyarat pada bentuk akar, pengertian dan unsur-unsur lingkaran, kesalahan dalam menggunakan rumus kecepatan yang seharusnya menghitung keliling lingkaran untuk mencari jarak, ketidaktahuan cara atau teknik menghitung luas daerah yang diarsir dan Teorema Pythagoras, serta lupa rumus mencari luas juring), hambatan epistemologis (kurangnya pemahaman konsep hubungan sudut pusat dan keliling, luas juring, dan panjang busur lingkaran), dan hambatan didaktis (keterbatasan bahan ajar, penyampaian rumus tanpa konsep, dan urutan materi tidak bertahap). Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, direkomendasikan desain didaktis berbasis Theory of Didactical Situation (TDS) yang berupa tahapan aksi, formulasi, validasi, dan institusionalisasi. This study aims to describe students' mathematical connection abilities in solving circle material problems, identify learning obstacles related to mathematical connection skills, and design didactic designs to minimize these obstacles The method used is qualitative with DDR research design. The subjects of the study were 35 eighth-grade students from a junior high school in Bandung. Data collection techniques were carried out through a test, interview,, and document analysis. The results of the analysis show that students do not have good mathematical connection skills because none of them have mastered the three indicators proposed by NCTM. The identified obstacles include ontogenic obstacles (low motivation and readiness, lack of skill in calculations, lack of understanding of prerequisites in root form, definition and elements of a circle, errors in using the speed formula which should calculate the circumference of a circle to find distance, ignorance of ways or techniques to calculate the area of the shaded area and the Pythagorean Theorem, as well as forgetting the formula for finding the area of the circumference), epistemological obstacles (lack of understanding of the concept of the relationship between central and inscribed angles, sector area, and arc length), and didactical obstacles (limited learning materials, delivery of formulas without conceptual understanding, and unstructured sequencing of materials). To address these issues, a didactical design based on the Theory of Didactical Situations (TDS) is recommended consisting of stages of action, formulation, validation, and institutionalization.
