Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi pembelajaran seni musik yang diterapkan oleh guru di SMKN 4 Kuningan serta menganalisis kendala yang dihadapi dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran yang diterapkan belum optimal, disebabkan oleh latar belakang pendidikan guru yang bukan berasal dari bidang seni musik. Hal ini berdampak pada kurang tepatnya pemilihan materi, metode, media, serta sistem penilaian yang digunakan. Pembelajaran masih didominasi oleh metode ceramah dan belum memfasilitasi praktik bermusik secara maksimal. Guru juga mengalami kesulitan dalam menyusun bahan ajar yang relevan serta terbatas dalam memanfaatkan media pembelajaran. Selain itu, penilaian lebih menekankan aspek kognitif tanpa melibatkan penilaian keterampilan praktik secara menyeluruh. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya pelatihan profesional di bidang seni musik serta penyediaan sarana pendukung agar strategi pembelajaran dapat dilaksanakan secara lebih efektif dan kontekstual sesuai kebutuhan peserta didik di sekolah kejuruan. This study aims to describe the teaching strategies applied in music education by teachers at SMKN 4 Kuningan and to analyze the challenges encountered in the learning process. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the learning strategies implemented are not yet optimal, mainly due to the teachers' lack of formal educational background in music. This condition affects the appropriateness of material selection, instructional methods, media use, and assessment systems. The learning process is still dominated by lectures and lacks sufficient hands-on music practice. Teachers also face difficulties in preparing relevant teaching materials and have limited use of varied instructional media. Additionally, assessment practices tend to focus on cognitive aspects, with minimal emphasis on students' practical skills. This study recommends the provision of professional training in music education and improved learning facilities to support more effective and contextual teaching strategies aligned with the needs of vocational high school students.
