Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan gadget terhadap kemampuan berbahasa anak usia dini di Kober ACCI Gambung. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh meningkatnya penggunaan gadget di kalangan anak dan yang dapat berdampak pada aspek perkembangan bahasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intensitas penggunaan gadget yang tinggi tanpa pendampingan dapat berdampak negatif terhadap kemampuan berbahasa anak. Anak yang terlalu sering menggunakan gadget cenderung mengalami keterlambatan bicara, kurang penguasaan kosakata, serta kesulitan menyusun kalimat. Sebaliknya, penggunaan gadget yang dibatasi dan disertai pendampingan dapat membantu anak menambah kosakata baru dan menstimulasi perkembangan bahasa. Pola penggunaan gadget pada anak mayoritas meliputi aktivitas menonton video, dan bermain game. Upaya orang tua dalam mengelola penggunaan gadget antara lain dengan memilihkan konten edukatif, membatasi waktu penggunaan, serta memperkuat interaksi secara langsung di rumah. Peran orang tua menjadi kunci dalam mengarahkan anak agar penggunaan gadget dapat memberikan manfaat positif bagi perkembangan bahasa anak. ---------- This study aims to examine the influence of gadget use on the language development of early childhood students at Kober ACCI Gambung. The background of the study is based on the increasing use of gadgets among young children, which can affect various aspects of language development. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers, parents, and children. The results showed that high-intensity gadget use without supervision has a negative impact on children’s language abilities. Children who frequently use gadgets tend to experience speech delays, limited vocabulary, and difficulty constructing proper sentences. Conversely, limited gadget use accompanied by parental guidance can help enrich vocabulary and stimulate language development. The patterns of gadget use among children included watching videos, playing games, and listening to songs, with varying durations. Parents play a crucial role in managing gadget use by selecting educational content, limiting screen time, and strengthening direct verbal communication at home. Parental involvement is key in ensuring that gadgets support, rather than hinder, children’s language growth. With proper guidance and limitations, gadgets can serve as supportive tools in the development of early childhood language skills.
