    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran orang tua dalam menstimulasi keterampilan pra-calistung anak usia dini di rumah. Keterampilan pra-calistung yang dimaksud meliputi kemampuan dasar pra-membaca, pra-menulis, dan pra-berhitung, yang menjadi bekal penting sebelum anak masuk ke pendidikan formal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan rancangan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian adalah lima orang tua dari anak usia 5–6 tahun yang memiliki tingkat keterampilan pra-calistung berbeda, meskipun mendapatkan stimulasi yang sama di sekolah. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan orang tua secara aktif dan konsisten di rumah memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap perkembangan keterampilan pra-calistung anak. Pola stimulasi yang disesuaikan dengan karakteristik anak serta dukungan emosional menjadi faktor penting yang mendukung kemajuan tersebut. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya kolaborasi antara rumah dan sekolah dalam mendukung kesiapan belajar anak usia dini.

    This study aims to examine the role of parents in stimulating early childhood pre-literacy and numeracy (pre-calistung) skills at home. These skills include pre-reading, pre-writing, and early numeracy abilities that serve as a foundation before entering formal education. A qualitative case study approach was used, involving five parents of children aged 5–6 years who exhibited different levels of pre-calistung skills despite receiving similar stimulation at school. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that consistent and active parental involvement at home significantly contributes to children's development of pre-calistung skills. Tailored stimulation based on each child’s characteristics and emotional support were key factors that influenced their progress. This study highlights the importance of collaboration between home and school to ensure children's readiness for early formal education.
