Abstract

Pembelajaran seni rupa di sekolah dasar kurang menekankan teknik mewarnai yang sistematis sehingga eksplorasi siswa menjadi terbatas. Teknik circular shading yaitu teknik gradasi warna melingkar, memberikan kontrol transisi warna yang lebih halus dan membantu siswa menciptakan efek warna yang lebih dinamis. Dengan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (Project-Based Learning), teknik ini dapat mengembangkan keterampilan seni secara optimal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan observasi dan dokumentasi pada 20 siswa kelas V di SD Negeri Kopeng 1 yang menerapkan teknik circular shading dalam menggambar pola ragam hias flora. Instrumen dalam mengumpulkan data menggunakan indikator penilaian keterampilan seni. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 7 siswa meraih kategori Sangat Baik dan 13 siswa meraih kategori Baik. Rata-rata pencapaian indikator bervariasi, dengan keluwesan memperoleh skor tertinggi (4,0), diikuti oleh ekspresi (3,6), detail visual (2,85), teknik (2,35), dan kelancaran (2,3). Skor total siswa berkisar antara 12 hingga 20. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa teknik circular shading dapat memberikan pengalaman menarik untuk mengasah keterampilan mewarnai siswa dalam pembelajaran seni rupa.

Elementary school art learning does not emphasize systematic coloring techniques, so that student exploration is limited. The circular shading technique, which is a circular color gradation technique, provides smoother color transition control and helps students create more dynamic color effects. With a project-based learning model, this technique can develop art skills optimally. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with observation and documentation of 20 fifth grade students at Kopeng 1 Elementary School who applied the circular shading technique in drawing floral decorative patterns. The instrument for collecting data used art skill assessment indicators. The results showed that 6 students achieved the Very Good category and 14 students achieved the Good category. The average achievement of indicators varied, with flexibility getting the highest score (4.0), followed by Expression (3.6), visual detail (2.85), technique (2.35), and Fluency (2.3). The total student scores ranged from 12 to 20. These results indicate that the circular shading technique can provide an interesting experience to hone students' coloring skills in fine arts learning.
