Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelangi permasalahan siswa kelas V SD yang tidak mampu menemukan dan memahami informasi penting yang terkandung dalam teks. Hal ini disebabkan rendahnya minat membaca siswa serta penerapan metode pembelajaran yang kurang tepat sehingga aktivitas membaca kurang efektif. Upaya yang dilakukan yaitu dengan pemilihan metode pembelajaran yang dapat mengembangkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman salah satunya metode OK5R berbantu Puzzle-Mindmap serta menggunakan teks yang dapat mempertajam kemampuan pemahaman dalam konteks pemerolehan informasi penting yakni teks eksplanasi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode OK5R berbantu media Puzzle-Mindmap terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks eksplanasi pada siswa kelas eksperimen dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode KWL terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks eksplanasi pada kelas kontrol serta mengetahui perbedaan antara kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks eksplanasi pada siswa yang menggunakan metode OK5R berbantu media Puzzle-Mindmap dengan siswa yang menggunakan metode KWL pada kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimen jenis The Matching-Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 26 siswa kelas V SD Negeri Tirto 03 dan 20 siswa kelas V SD Negeri Pasirsari 01. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata pretest pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 42,02, sedangkan rata-rata posttest sebesar 61,94 dan rata-rata pretest kelas kontrol sebesar 39,46 serta rata-rata posttest kelas kontrol sebesar 55,17. Dengan demikian, kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas eksperimen dan kontrol mengalami peningkatan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa metode OK5R berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman di SD Negeri Tirto 03. Selain itu, terdapat perbedaan hasil posttest antara kelas eksperimen (61,94) dengan kelas kontrol (55,17). Nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,035 lebih kecil dari 0,005 sehingga Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Dapat disimpulkan, terdapat perbedaan kemampuan membaca pemahaman antara siswa yang menggunakan metode OK5R dengan metode KWL.

This research is motivated by the problem of fifth grade elementary school students who are unable to find and understand important information contained in the text. This is due to the low interest in reading of students and the application of inappropriate learning methods so that reading activities are less effective. Efforts made are by selecting learning methods that can develop reading comprehension skills, one of which is the OK5R method assisted by Puzzle-Mindmap and using texts that can sharpen comprehension skills in the context of obtaining important information, namely explanatory texts. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the OK5R method assisted by Puzzle-Mindmap media on the ability to read comprehension of explanatory texts in experimental class students and to determine the effect of using the KWL method on the ability to read comprehension of explanatory texts in the control class and to determine the difference between the ability to read comprehension of explanatory texts in students who used the OK5R method assisted by Puzzle-Mindmap media and students who used the KWL method in the control class. This study used a quasi-experimental design of the Matching-Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design type. The research sample consisted of 26 fifth grade students of SD Negeri Tirto 03 and 20 fifth grade students of SD Negeri Pasirsari 01. The results showed that the average pretest in the experimental class was 42.02, while the average posttest was 61.94 and the average pretest in the control class was 39.46 and the average posttest in the control class was 55.17. Thus, the reading comprehension ability of students in the experimental and control classes increased. This shows that the OK5R method has a significant effect on improving reading comprehension skills in SD Negeri Tirto 03. In addition, there is a difference in the posttest results between the experimental class (61.94) and the control class (55.17). The significance value of 0.035 is smaller than 0.005 so that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. It can be concluded that there is a difference in reading comprehension skills between students who use the OK5R method and the KWL method.
