Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan dari dua hal pada pembelajaran IPS, pertama, masih banyak implementasi pembelajaran IPS yang dikemas dengan cara yang kurang inovatif. Kedua, rendahnya keterampilan sosial siswa pada indikator hubungan teman sebaya, pengendalian diri, kemampuan akademik, kepatuhan dan ketegasan. Model pembelajaran ini bernama model problem based learning berbasis nilai-nilai tradisi Tumpeng Sewu (PBL-TRATUS) yang dikaitkan dengan peningkatan keterampilan sosial siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS SMP. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep model problem based learning berbasis nilai-nilai tradisi Tumpeng Sewu (PBL-TRATUS) yang diimplementasikan pada pembelajaran IPS untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan 5 tahapan penelitian berdasarkan model ADDIE. Subjek dan Lokasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri Kecamatan Songgon dan Kecamatan Singojuruh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru, sumber belajar terbatas hanya buku teks, materi pembelajaran belum kontekstual dan belum menggali nilai-nilai tradisi Tumpeng Sewu dalam pembelajaran IPS. (2) Desain 5 langkah pembelajaran yakni problematis, eksplorasi, kolaborasi, klarifikasi dan refleksi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa. Dalam lima sintak tersebut dinamakan model PBL-TRATUS yang kemudian diuji secara terbatas pada SMPN 1 Songgon. (3) Efektivitas pembelajaran ini diuji secara luas di SMPN 2 Songgon, SMPN 3 Songgon, SMPN 1 Singojuruh dan SMPN Manbaul Falah Singojuruh melalui penghitungan skor pretest dan posttest menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas terkategori cukup efektif yang berarti bahwa model PBL-TRATUS cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa. The background of this research is based on two things in social studies learning, first, there are still many implementations of social studies learning that are packaged in a less innovative way. Second, the low social skills of students on indicators of peer relations, self-control, academic ability, compliance and assertiveness. This learning model is called problem-based learning model based on the values of Tumpeng Sewu tradition (PBL-TRATUS) which is associated with improving students’ social skills in junior high school social studies subjects. This research aims to analyse the concept of problem-based learning model based on traditional values of Tumpeng Sewu (PBL-TRATUS) which is implemented in social studies learning to improve students’ social skills. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with 5 stages of research based on the ADDIE model. The subjects and location of this research were seventh grade students of SMP Negeri Songgon District and Singojuruh District. The results showed that: (1) Learning is still teacher-centred, learning resources are limited to textbooks, learning materials have not been contextualised and have not explored the values of the Tumpeng Sewu tradition in social studies learning. (2) The design of 5 learning steps namely problematic, exploration, collaboration, clarification and reflection in improving students’ social skills. In these five syntaxes, it is called the PBL-TRATUS model which is then tested on a limited basis at SMPN 1 Songgon. (3) The effectiveness of this learning was tested widely at SMPN 2 Songgon, SMPN 3 Songgon, SMPN 1 Singojuruh and SMPN Manbaul Falah Singojuruh through the calculation of pretest and posttest scores showing that the effectiveness is categorised as quite effective which means that the PBL-TRATUS model is quite effective in improving students’ social skills.
