Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran adaptif merupakan bagian dari kemahiran matematika yang diperlukan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran adaptif, diperlukan daya juang produktif sebagai aspek afektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan penalaran adaptif, pencapaian daya juang produktif, dan hubungan antara daya juang produktif dan kemampuan penalaran adaptif siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian eksperimen semu serta desain penelitian Non-equivalent (Pre-test and Post-test) Control-Group Design. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung. Sampel penelitian yang digunakan sebanyak 51 siswa kelas VII yang terdiri dari dua kelompok. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pre-test dan post-test kemampuan penalaran adaptif, angket daya juang produktif, lembar observasi, dan pedoman wawancara. Penelitian ini memperoleh temuan yaitu: (1) Terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran adaptif siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika dengan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika dengan model pembelajaran langsung; (2) Tidak terdapat perbedaan pencapaian daya juang produktif siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika dengan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika dengan model pembelajaran langsung; (3) Terdapat hubungan antara daya juang produktif dengan kemampuan penalaran adaptif siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika dengan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika dengan model pembelajaran langsung. Adaptive reasoning ability is part of the mathematical proficiency needed in learning mathematics. In improving adaptive reasoning ability, productive struggle is necessary as an affective aspect. This study aims to analyze the improvement of adaptive reasoning ability, the achievement of productive struggle, and the relationship between productive struggle and adaptive reasoning ability of students who get problem-based learning and direct learning. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research method and a Non-equivalent (Pre-test and Post-test) Control-Group design research design. The population of this study was seventh-grade students in one of the public junior high schools in Bandung City. The research sample used was 51 seventh-grade students consisting of two groups. The instruments used in this study were a pre-test and post-test of adaptive reasoning ability, a productive struggle questionnaire, an observation sheet, and interview guidelines. This study obtained the following findings: (1) There is a difference in the improvement of adaptive reasoning ability of students who obtain mathematics learning with problem-based learning model and students who obtain mathematics learning with direct learning model; (2) There is no difference in the achievement of productive struggle of students who obtain mathematics learning with problem-based learning model and students who obtain mathematics learning with direct learning model; (3) There is a relationship between productive struggle and adaptive reasoning ability of students who obtain mathematics learning with problem-based learning model and students who obtain mathematics learning with direct learning model.
