    Abstract

    Pembelajaran IPA di Sekolah Dasar tidak hanya fokus pada pencapaian aspek kognitif, tetapi juga perlu mendukung perkembangan keterampilan sosial dan emosional siswa. Salah satu pendekatan inovatif yang dapat diterapkan adalah melalui kegiatan praktikum berbasis pembelajaran soisal dan emosional. Pendekatan ini memungkinkan siswa untuk tidak hanya memahami konsep ilmiah, seperti perubahan wujud zat, tetapi juga mengembangkan kemampuan kerja sama, empati, dan pengelolaan emosi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi implementasi kegiatan praktikum perubahan wujud zat berbasis pembelajaran sosial dan emosional pada siswa kelas IV. Kegiatan Praktikum yaitu metode mengajar dengan cara mempraktikkan langsung untuk menguji atau membuktikan suatu konsep yang sedang dipelajari, sedangkan Pembelajaran sosial emosional (PSE) adalah suatu proses yang bertujuan untuk membantu individu memahami dan mengelola emosi, membangun hubungan yang positif, serta membuat keputusan yang bertanggung jawab. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah narrative inquiry, dengan mengeksplorasi pengalaman dan perspektif siswa, guru, serta peneliti dalam proses pembelajaran. Melalui pendekatan kualitiatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan praktikum tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman konsep perubahan wujud zat, tetapi juga memperkuat keterampilan sosial dan emosional siswa. Siswa menunjukkan peningkatan dalam kemapuan berkolaborasi, komunikasi, dan pengelolaan emosi selama kegiatan praktikum. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi pembelajaran sosial dan emosional dalam kegiatan praktikum perubahan wujud zat tidak hanya memperkaya pengalaman belajar siswa tetapi juga mendukung perkembangan keterampilan interpersonal mereka. Disarankan kepada pendidik untuk merancang kegiatan praktikum yang lebih holistik dengan mempertimbangkan aspek sosial dan emosional, guna meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas. Science learning in elementary school does not only focus on achieving cognitive aspects but also needs to support the development of students' social and emotional skills. One innovative approach that can be applied is through practical activities based on social and emotional learning. This approach allows students not only to understand scientific concepts, such as changes in the state of matter, but also to develop cooperation, empathy, and emotional regulation skills. This study aims to explore the implementation of practical activities on changes in the state of matter based on social and emotional learning in fourth-grade students. Practical activities are a teaching method that involves direct experimentation to test or prove a concept being studied, while Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is a process aimed at helping individuals understand and manage emotions, build positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. The research method used is narrative inquiry, exploring the experiences and perspectives of students, teachers, and researchers in the learning process. Through a qualitative approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that practical activities not only improved students' understanding of the concept of changes in the state of matter but also strengthened their social and emotional skills. Students demonstrated improvements in collaboration, communication, and emotional regulation skills during the practical activities. This study concludes that integrating social and emotional learning into practical activities on changes in the state of matter not only enriches students' learning experiences but also supports their interpersonal skill development. Educators are encouraged to design more holistic practical activities by considering social and emotional aspects to enhance the quality of classroom learning.
