Abstract

Menurunnya rasa peduli terhadap lingkungan merupakan masalah yang sangat krusial dan akan sangat berdampak pada keberlangsungan hidup di masa depan. Penanaman karakter peduli lingkungan menjadi salah satu cara untuk mencegah hal tersebut terjadi. Karakter peduli lingkungan dapat ditanamkan sejak usia dini dan dapat dilakukan melalui pendidikan. Penanaman karakter peduli lingkungan pada jenjang sekolah dasar dapat dilakukan melalui pembiasaan dan pengintegrasian dalam materi pembelajaran. Kegiatan pembelajaran juga perlu menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang sesuai dan menyenangkan, agar tujuan pembelajaran yang telah ditetapkan dapat tercapai dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perencanaan, penggunaan metode role playing untuk penanaman karakter peduli lingkungan pada siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar serta mendeskripsikan peningkatan karakter peduli lingkungan pada siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di SDN 5 Sandingtaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan metode role playing dalam penanaman karakter peduli lingkungan ini adanya peningkatan mulai dari perencanaan pembelajaran dan pelaksanaan tindakan. Untuk penilaian perencanaan pembelajaran di siklus I mendapatkan nilai 84,9 dengan peringkat “Baik” dari siklus II pertemuan ke-1 dan siklus II pertemuan ke-2 mendapatkan nilai 97,6% dengan peringkat “Sangat Baik”. Pembelajaran pada Siklus I memperoleh nilai 70,4, pembelajaran di Siklus II pertemuan ke-1 memperoleh nilai 72, sedangkan pada pembelajaran di Siklus II pertemuan ke-2 memperoleh nilai 78. Kemudian peningkatan karakter peduli lingkungan pada siswa dimana siswa lebih memperhatikan dan menjaga kebersihan serta kerapian lingkungan kelas. The decline in concern for the environment is a very crucial issue and will significantly impact the sustainability of life in the future. The cultivation of environmental care as a character trait is one way to prevent this from happening. Environmental awareness can be instilled from an early age and can be achieved through education. The cultivation of environmental care character in elementary school can be achieved through habituation and integration into the learning materials. Learning activities also need to use appropriate and enjoyable teaching methods so that the established learning objectives can be achieved effectively. This research aims to describe the planning and use of the role-playing method for instilling environmental care character in fourth-grade elementary school students, as well as to describe the improvement of environmental care character among the students. This research uses the Classroom Action Research method. The data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. The research location was conducted at SDN 5 Sandingtaman. The research results show that by using the role-playing method in instilling environmental care character, there is an improvement starting from the learning planning to the implementation of actions. For the assessment of learning planning in Cycle I, a score of 84.9 was achieved with a ranking of "Good." In Cycle II, the first and second meetings received scores of 97.6% with a ranking of "Very Good." Learning in Cycle I obtained a score of 70.4, while learning in Cycle II, the first meeting scored 72, and the second meeting scored 78. Then there is an increase in environmental awareness among students, where they pay more attention to and maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the classroom environment.
