Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil studi pendahuluan yang menunjukkan bahwa siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengerjakan soal eksponen. Terdapat beberapa sifat positif matematis yang akan sangat membantu dalam pembelajaran, salah satunya adalah resiliensi matematis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal eksponen berdasarkan Teori Nolting dan faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi terjadinya kesalahan tersebut. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain penelitian fenomenologi. Partisipan dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X salah satu SMA di Kabupaten Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan yang paling banyak dilakukan siswa dengan resiliensi matematis rendah adalah kesalahan saat mengerjakan tes, kesalahan belajar, dan kesalahan konsep. Selanjutnya kesalahan yang paling banyak dilakukan siswa dengan resiliensi matematis sedang secara berurutan yaitu kesalahan saat mengerjakan tes, kesalahan konsep, dan kesalahan belajar. Terakhir, kesalahan yang paling banyak dilakukan siswa dengan resiliensi matematis tinggi adalah kesalahan konsep, kesalahan belajar, dan kesalahan membaca petunjuk. Faktor penyebab terjadinya kesalahan tersebut yaitu mereka melewatkan informasi penting dalam soal, salah memahami bentuk jawaban yang diinginkan soal, tidak mengisi jawaban atau hanya menulis jawaban akhir, ceroboh, lupa dan belum begitu menguasai konsep eksponen terutama sifat-sifat eksponen, sehingga kurang jeli dalam membaca soal sehingga salah dalam mengaplikasikan komponen yang diketahui pada rumus. This research is motivated by the results of a preliminary study which shows that students still have difficulty in working on exponent problems. There are several positive mathematical traits that will be very helpful in learning, one of which is mathematical resilience. The purpose of this study is to determine the types of errors made by students in working on exponent problems based on Nolting Theory and what factors influence the occurrence of these errors. The type of research used is qualitative research with phenomenological research design. The participants of this study were class X students of one of the high schools in Bandung Regency. The results showed that the most common mistakes made by students with low mathematical resilience were test-taking errors, learning errors, and concept errors. Furthermore, the most common mistakes made by students with moderate mathematical resilience in order are errors when doing the test, concept errors, and learning errors. Finally, the most common errors made by students with high mathematical resilience are concept errors, learning errors, and reading the instructions. The factors causing these errors are that they missed important information in the problem, misunderstood the form of answer the question wanted, did not fill in the answer or only wrote the final answer, careless, forgot and had not really mastered the concept of exponents, especially the properties of exponents, so they were less observant in reading the question so that they were wrong in applying the known components to the formula.
