Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh keresahan peneliti mengenai motivasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran IPS yang terlihat masih kurang. Ketika pembelajaran berlangsung siswa terlihat tidak bersemangat dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran, seperti melamun, mengobrol, dan kurang aktif ketika guru memberikan pertanyaan, hal ini menunjukan rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa kelas VII-A MTsN 4 Majalengka. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan upaya meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe card sort dalam pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas dengan konsep desain spiral dari Kemmis dan Mc.Taggart yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi, penilaian indikator motivasi belajar, catatan lapangan, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu teknik analisis deksriptif terhadap data berupa catatan lapangan dan lembar observasi serta perhitungan data hasil penilaian motivasi belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran aktif tipe card sort dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPS. Peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa pada siklus 3 dinilai sudah memenuhi hampir semua penilaian aspek instrumen motivasi belajar. Dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran sudah mangalami peningkatan semakin baik, sehingga mampu mencapai target ketuntasan yang peneliti harapkan. Dengan demikian, melihat hasil-hasil yang didapatkan dari setiap siklusnya dapat dikatakan bahwa upaya penerapan model pembelajaran aktif tipe card sort dapat meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas VII-A MTsN 4 Majalengka. The background of this research stems from the researcher's concern about the lack of student motivation in social studies learning, as observed in the classroom. During lessons, students often appeared disengaged, with behaviors such as daydreaming, chatting, and being inactive when the teacher posed questions. This indicated low learning motivation among the students of class VII-A at MTsN 4 Majalengka. The objective of this study is to describe efforts to enhance student motivation through the cooperative learning model, specifically the card sort method, in social studies. The research employs classroom action research using the spiral design concept by Kemmis and Mc.Taggart, which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include observation sheets, motivation indicators assessment, field notes, and interviews. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis of the data from field notes and observation sheets, as well as the calculation of the results from the motivation assessment. The results of the research indicate that the implementation of the active learning model using the card sort method can indeed increase student motivation in social studies. By the third cycle, the increase in student motivation had met nearly all the assessment criteria for learning motivation. The implementation of the lessons showed consistent improvement, ultimately achieving the desired level of mastery. Therefore, based on the results obtained in each cycle, it can be concluded that the use of the card sort active learning model effectively enhances students' social skills in social studies classes at VII-A MTsN 4 Majalengka.
