    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan desain buku cerita bergambar berbasis nilai-nilai Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) dengan fokus pada hewan endemik Indonesia untuk memperkuat karakter siswa sebagai warga negara global. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode Research and Development (R&D) di SMP Negeri 2 Pangenan Cirebon dan Bandung Independent School, melibatkan 140 siswa yang dibagi menjadi kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing 70 siswa. Pengembangan buku melibatkan analisis kebutuhan dengan partisipasi guru, siswa, dan pihak terkait. Buku ini tidak hanya mengenalkan hewan endemik, tetapi juga mengintegrasikan nilai keberagaman, pelestarian lingkungan, dan tanggung jawab sosial. Uji implementasi dilakukan dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila selama satu semester, menggunakan metode pembelajaran interaktif untuk mendorong partisipasi aktif siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa tentang konsep Pendidikan Pancasila serta perilaku peduli terhadap lingkungan dan keberagaman budaya. Analisis kuantitatif mencatat peningkatan signifikan dalam sikap dan perilaku siswa di kelas eksperimen dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa buku cerita bergambar berbasis nilai SDGs tidak hanya meningkatkan minat baca, tetapi juga berkontribusi positif terhadap pengembangan karakter siswa sebagai warga global yang bertanggung jawab. Produk ini diharapkan menjadi model pembelajaran inovatif yang dapat diterapkan secara luas untuk memperkuat karakter siswa dalam menghadapi tantangan global.

    This study aims to develop the design of a picture storybook based on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) values, focusing on Indonesia’s endemic animals, to strengthen students' character as global citizens. The research was conducted using the Research and Development (R&D) method at SMP Negeri 2 Pangenan Cirebon and Bandung Independent School, involving 140 students divided into control and experimental classes, each with 70 students. The development of the book involved a needs analysis with the participation of teachers, students, and other stakeholders. The book not only introduces endemic animals but also integrates values such as diversity, environmental conservation, and social responsibility. Implementation trials were carried out in Pancasila Education classes over one semester using interactive learning methods to encourage active student participation. The study's results showed an improvement in students' understanding of Pancasila Education concepts and their awareness of environmental and cultural diversity. Quantitative analysis recorded a significant increase in the attitudes and behaviors of students in the experimental class compared to the control class. The study concluded that picture storybooks based on SDGs values not only enhance reading interest but also positively contribute to students' character development as responsible global citizens. This product is expected to serve as an innovative learning model that can be widely implemented to strengthen students' character in facing global challenges.
