Abstract
Anak tunanetra yang mengalami kesulitan membaca huruf braille terutama mengenal titik-titik pada huruf braille sering kali keliru pada posisi titik braille yang dibacanya. Penggunaan media yang mengaktifkan keterlibatan peserta didik, seperti alat bantu brailtex telah terbukti meningkatkan efektivitas proses belajar mengajar. Media pembelajaran yang dirancang untuk merangsang berbagai indera dapat membantu memperkuat retensi informasi dan memfasilitasi pemahaman materi dengan baik, dengan melibatkan peserta didik secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran, media tersebut membantu meningkatkan daya ingat dan pemahaman terhadap konsep-konsep yang diajarkan, sehingga mendukung perkembangan akademis dan kognitif secara keseluruhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan dari penggunaan media papan brailtex terhadap kemampuan membaca huruf braille pada peserta didik tunanetra kelas II SD di SLBN A Pajajaran Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena terdapat kasus belum dapat membaca dan membedakan titik huruf abjad braille yang hampir sama. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental dengan desain one group pretest posttest. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes perbuatan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis visual yang disajikan dalam bentuk skor dan grafik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media papan brailtex ini dapat dilihat dari hasil perbandingan uji Wilcoxon pada skor rata-rata pre-test didapatkan 15,5 setelah diberikan perlakuan dan dilakukan posttest rata-rata skor yang didapatkan yaitu 26,3, selisih antara skor pre-test dan post-test sebesar 12,3 skor. Dapat dikatakan bahwa penggunaan media papan brailtex berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membaca huruf braille pada peserta didik tunanetra di SLBN A Pajajaran Kota Bandung. Blind children who have difficulty reading braille letters, especially recognizing the dots on braille letters, are often mistaken in the position ofe the braille dots they read. The use of media activates learner engagement, such as brailtex aids, has been shown to increase the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process. Learning media designed to stimulate various senses can help strengthen information retention and facilitate understanding of the material well, by involving learners actively in the learning process, the media helps improve memeroy and understanding of the concepts taught, thus supporting overall academic and cogtivive development. This study aims to determine the improvement of the use of brailtex board media on the ability to read braille beginnings in student with visual impairments in class II SD at SLBN A Pajajaran Bandung City. This research was conducted because there were cases of not being able to read and distinguish the points of braille alphabet letters that were almost the same. The research method used was pre-experimental with a one group pretest posttest design. The data collection used in this study was an action test. The data obtained was analyzed using visual analysis presented in the from of scores and graphs. The results of this study indicate that the use of brailtex board media can be seen from the results of the Wilcoxon test comparison on the average pre-test score obtained 15,5 after treatment and post-test the average score obtained is 26,3, the difference between the pre-test and post-test scores is 12,3 scores. It can be concluded that the use of brailtex board media has an effect on improving the ability to read braille beginnings in students with visual impairments at SLBN A Pajajaran Bandung City.
