Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA erat kaitannya dengan konsep-konsep ilmiah sehingga pemahaman konsep merupakan aspek penting dalam pembelajaran. Namun berdasarkan penelitian terdahulu dan observasi awal, kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa masih rendah. Siswa seringkali kesulitan memahami konsep-konsep IPA karena pembelajaran jarang menggunakan media yang mendukung pemahaman materi dan tidak melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam pembelajaran. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menerapkan LKPD berbasis model Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) untuk diketahui efektivitasnya terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep IPA materi perpindahan kalor. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif desain pre-experimental tipe one group pretest-posttest. Populasi yang digunakan adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SDN X di Kecamatan Bandung Wetan. Teknik pemilihan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dan terpilih siswa kelas V C SDN X Kecamatan Bandung Wetan Kota Bandung yang berjumlah 24 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes berjumlah 8 soal berbentuk pilihan ganda berkolom, benar salah, dan isian. Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis menggunakan Paired Sample T-Test, dan uji Uji N-Gain. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, rata-rata hasil pretest dan posttest mengalami peningkatan sebesar 34% dimana nilai awal 61,67 menjadi 82,71. Berdasarkan uji perbedaan rerata, diperoleh nilai signifikasi 0,000<0,05 maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima yang berarti terdapat perbedaan rerata serta dan menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep yang signifikan. Berdasarkan uji N-Gain, diperoleh skor N-Gain sebesar 0,5732 yang berada pada kategori sedang dengan N-Gain persen sebesar 57,32% menunjukkan bahwa tafsiran efektivitas berada pada kategori cukup efektif. Science learning is related to scientific concepts, so ability to understanding concept is an important aspect of learning. But based on previous research and observation, level of students concept understanding ability is low because students have difficulty understanding science concepts. Learning activity rarely use media that supports ability to understanding concepts and not involves students actively in learning activities. In this study, reserches applied student worksheet (LKPD) based on the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) model to determine its effectiveness on the ability to understand the science concept of heat transfer. This study used a quantitative approach pre-experimental design type one group pretest-posttest. The population used was all fifth grade students in elementary school X in Bandung Wetan District. The sample selection technique used purposive sampling and selected class V C students of SDN X, Bandung Wetan District, Bandung City, totaling 24 people. The instrument used a cognitive test with 8 questions in the form of columned multiple choice, true false, and fill in the blank. Data analysis used normality test, homogenity test, hypothesis test using Paired Sample T-Test, and N-Gain Test. Based on the data obtained, the average pretest and posttest results increased by 34% where the initial value was 61.67 to 82.71. Based on the mean difference test, the significance value is 0.000 <0.05, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, which means there is a difference mean and shows a significant increase in concept understanding ability. Based on the N-Gain test, the N-Gain score is 0.5732 which is obtained in the medium category with an N-Gain percent 57.32%, indicating that the interpretation of effectiveness is in the category moderately effective.
