Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan asertif karena memiliki peran penting dalam tahap perkembangan remaja yang mencakup aspek emosi, perilaku, dan kognitif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran umum perilaku asertif siswa sekolah menengah pertama dan gambaran umum perilaku asertif peserta didik sekolah menengah pertama berdasarkan sosiodemografi (jenis kelamin, usia, dan status ekonomi orang tua). Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan metode survei. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel sebanyak 287 peserta didik dari kelas 7, 8, dan 9 di sekolah menengah pertama SMP Pasundan 10 dan SMP Pasundan Kota Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan : (1) Secara umum perilaku asertif peserta didik di sekolah menengah pertama mayoritas berada pada kategori non asertif; (2) gambaran umum perilaku asertif berdasarkan sosiodemografi menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas peserta didik laki-laki dan perempuan berada pada kategori non asertif, berdasarkan usia mayoritas peserta didik pada rentang usia 12 tahun - >14 tahun berada pada kategori non asertif, dan berdasarkan status ekonomi orang tua dengan rentang pendapatan Rp0 – (>)Rp2.000.000 mayoritas peserta didik juga berada pada kategori non asertif. Rekomendasi penelitian: (1) bagi guru BK, diharapkan mampu membuat program untuk meningkatkan kemampuan asertif peserta didik; (2) bagi pihak sekolah, diharapkan memberikan dukungan dalam kegiatan bimbingan dan konseling; (3) bagi peneliti selanjutnya, diharapkan dapat meneliti faktor penyebab perilaku asertif serta dapat membandingkan kemampuan perilaku asertif peserta didik di sekolah negeri dan swasta. This research is motivated by the importance of assertive abilities because they have an important role in the stages of adolescent development which include emotional, behavioral and cognitive aspects. The aim of this research is to find out a general description of the assertive behavior of junior high school students and a general description of the assertive behavior of junior high school students based on sociodemographics (gender, age and parents' economic status). This research approach uses a descriptive quantitative approach with survey methods. This research used a sample of 287 students from grades 7, 8, and 9 at junior high schools, SMP Pasundan 10 and SMP Pasundan, Bandung City. The results of the research show: (1) In general, the assertive behavior of students in junior high school is non-assertive, namely 211 students; (2) a general description of assertive behavior based on sociodemographics shows that male and female students are in the non�assertive category, based on the age of students in the age range 12 years -> 14 years are in the non-assertive category, and based on the economic status of parents with income range IDR 0 – (>) IDR 2,000,000 students are also in the non-assertive category. Research recommendations: (1) for guidance and counseling teachers, it is hoped that they will be able to create programs to improve students' assertive abilities; (2) the school is expected to provide support in guidance and counseling activities; (3) For future researchers, it is hoped that they will be able to examine the factors that cause assertive behavior and be able to compare the assertive behavior abilities of students in public and private schools
