Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan motivasi belajar dengan kecenderungan perilaku menyontek peserta didik di SMP Negeri 3 Tigaraksa Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VII di SMP Negeri 3 Tigaraksa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yang terdiri dari 315 peserta didik SMP Negeri 3 Tigaraksa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) motivasi belajar peserta didik secara umum berada pada kategori identified regulation, yang berarti peserta didik melakukan kegiatan belajar dikarenakan karena adanya faktor eksternal seperti dukungan orangtua, sahabat, dan lingkungan sekitar; (2) tahapan perilaku menyontek peserta didik secara umum berada pada kategori rendah, yang berarti peserta didik sudah mampu mengerjakan pembelajaran atau tugas dengan sendirinya tanpa perlu adanya rasa ingin meniru atau menyalin pekerjaan temannya yang lain, mereka cenderung lebih mandiri mengerjakan tugas sendiri atau lebih banyak berdiskusi dan bertanya jikalau ada materi yang kurang dipahami; (3) motivasi belajar berhubungan secara signifikan dengan perilaku menyontek. Hasil penelitian di uji dengan menggunakan rank spearman yang menghasilkan hubungan signifikan dan negatif, yang berarti jika semakin tinggi tingkat motivasi belajar, maka semakin rendah tingkat perilaku menyontek, begitupun sebaliknya. Hasil memberiakn rekomendasi layanan bimbingan dan konseling untuk meningkatkan dan mengatasi permasalahan yang terjadi. This research aims to determine the relationship between learning motivation and students' tendency towards cheating behavior at SMP Negeri 3 Tigaraksa for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The research method used is a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The subjects of this study were 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Tigaraksa. Data collection used a purposive sampling technique consisting of 315 students from SMP Negeri 3 Tigaraksa. The results show that: (1) students' learning motivation is generally in the identified regulation category, which means students engage in learning activities due to external factors such as support from parents, friends, and the surrounding environment; (2) the stages of students' cheating behavior are generally in the low category, which means students are able to do their learning or assignments on their own without feeling the need to imitate or copy the work of other friends, they tend to be more independent in doing tasks or engage more in discussions and asking questions if there is material they don't understand; (3) learning motivation is significantly related to cheating behavior. The research results were tested using Spearman's rank correlation, which produced a significant and negative relationship, meaning that the higher the level of learning motivation, the lower the level of cheating behavior, and vice versa. The results provide recommendations for guidance and counseling services to improve and address the problems that occur.
