Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan latar belakang permasalahan yang ditemukan pada observasi awal ketika peneliti sedang melakukan kegiatan PPLSP (Program Pengenalan Lingkungan Satuan Pendidikan) yang dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Soreang yaitu terdapat permasalahan kelas di kelas XI IPS 1 dimana suasana kelas yang monoton dan peserta didik yang kurang aktif ketika pembelajaran serta diperkuat data dari guru mata pelajaran bahwa aktivitas peserta didik di kelas XI IPS 1 masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan mengoptimalkan penggunaan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas dengan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua siklus penelitian dengan masing – masing siklus sebanyak dua tindakan yang disesuaikan dengan jadwal mata pelajaran geografi di kelas XI IPS 1. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI IPS 1 sebanyak 36 peserta didik dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan soal. Observasi dilakukan untuk mengumpulkan data keaktifan belajar peserta didik dan soal digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data hasil belajar. Analisis data menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Dari hasil penelitian tindakan kelas ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan keaktifan peserta didik dalam mata pelajaran geografi dan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik secara keseluruhan yaitu sebanyak 36 peserta didik di kelas XI IPS 1 telah mencapai nilai kriteria ketuntasan minimum pada mata pelajaran geografi. Pembelajaran Geografi This research was conducted against the background of the problems found in the initial observations when the researchers were conducting PPLSP (Educational Unit Environmental Introduction Program) activities which were carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Soreang, namely there were class problems in class XI IPS 1 where the class atmosphere was monotonous and the students were less active when learning and reinforced by data from subject teachers that student activity in class XI IPS 1 is still low. The purpose of this study is to increase the active learning of students by optimizing the use of problem-based learning models. This research uses classroom action research method with Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. This study uses two research cycles with each cycle of two actions that are adjusted to the schedule of geography subjects in class XI IPS 1. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IPS 1 as many as 36 students with data collection techniques using observations and questions. Observations were made to collect data on student learning activities and questions were used to collect data on learning outcomes. Data analysis used quantitative and qualitative analysis. From the results of this classroom action research, it shows that the problem-based learning model can increase the activeness of students in geography subjects and can improve overall student learning outcomes, as many as 36 students in class XI IPS 1 have achieved the minimum criteria for completeness in geography subjects.
