Abstract

Penelitian ini di latarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kesadaran sejarah berbhinneka tunggal ika siswa SMA dalam pembelajaran sejarah di kelas X IPS 2 SMAN 23 Garut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk meningkatkan kesadaran sejarah berbhinneka tunggal ika siswa SMA melalui penerapan model think pair and share. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang mengembangkan model think pair and share untuk meningkatkan kesadaran sejarah berbhinneka tunggal ika. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terjadi peningkatan kesadaran sejarah berbhinneka tunggal ika melalui penggunaan model think pair and share pada setiap siklusnya, pada siklus I peningkatan kesadaran sejarah pada indikator nilai demokrasi menunjukkan kategori baik. Pada siklus II indikator nilai toleransi, kesetaraan dan keadilan menunjukan kategori kurang. Pada siklus III terjadi peningkatan pada indikator nilai toleransi, kesetaraan dan keadilan berada pada kategori cukup. Dan pada siklus IV terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan pada indikator nilai toleransi, kesetaraan dan keadilan yang berada pada kategori baik. Sehingga model think pair and share cocok digunakan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran sejarah berbhinneka tunggal ika. Penelitian ini direkomendasikan untuk kepala sekolah SMAN 23 Garut, Guru Sejarah, Dinas Pendidikan, dan bagi peneliti lanjutan. Kata Kunci: Model think pair and share, Kesadaran Sejarah Berbhinneka Tunggal Ika, Pembelajaran Sejarah This research is motivated by the low awareness of the history of Bhinneka tunggal ika (unity in diversity) of high school students in learning history in class X IPS 2 SMAN 23 Garut. The purpose of this research is to increase the historical awareness of Bhinneka tunggal ika (unity in diversity) of high school students through the application of think pair and share model. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) that develops the think pair and share model to increase historical awareness of diversity. The results showed an increase in historical awareness of Bhinneka tunggal ika (unity in diversity) through the use of the think pair and share model in each cycle, in cycle I the increase in historical awareness in the indicator of democratic values showed a good category. In cycle II the indicators of tolerance, equality and justice values showed a less category. In cycle III there was an increase in indicators of tolerance, equality and justice values in the sufficient category. And in cycle IV there was a significant increase in the indicators of the value of tolerance, equality and justice which were in the good category. So that the think pair and share model is suitable to be used to increase historical awareness of Bhinneka tunggal ika (unity in diversity). This research is recommended for the principal of SMAN 23 Garut, History Teachers, Education Office, and for further researchers.
