Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya inovasi dalam pembelajaran IPS untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan sustainability awareness siswa yang masih belum dapat menyelesaikan masalah-masalahnya dengan baik, sehingga diperlukan pembelajaran yang dapat membantu mereka untuk mencari alternatif solusi dalam menyelesaikannya. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis implementasi model moral based issues untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan sustainability awareness. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan Single-Group Interrupted Time-Series Design. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis sebelum eksperimen I dan II implementasi model moral based issues, tidak terdapat perbedaan sustainability awareness sebelum eksperimen I dan II implementasi model moral based issues, tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis setelah eksperimen I dan II implementasi model moral based issues, tidak terdapat perbedaan sustainability awareness setelah eksperimen I dan II implementasi model moral based issues, terdapat adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah dalam peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis setelah eksperimen I dan II implementasi model moral based issues, dan terdapat adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah eksperimen I dan II dalam peningkatan sustainability awareness setelah implementasi model moral based issues. Simpulan penelitian ini yaitu imlementasi moral based issues memberikan sintaks baru yang terintegrasi dari rational building model dan problem based learning berorientasi education for sustainable development. Adapun peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan sustainability awareness ditinjau dari analisis permasalahan berdasarkan nilai moral yang berkelanjutan; This research is motivated by the innovation in social studies learning to foster critical thinking skills and sustainability awareness of students who are still unable to solve their problems properly, so that learning is needed that can help them find alternative solutions to solve them. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of the moral based issues model to improve critical thinking skills and sustainability awareness. The method used is a quasi-experiment with a Single-Group Interrupted Time-Series Design. The results of this study indicate that there is no difference in critical thinking skills before experiments I and II of the implementation of the moral based issues model, there is no difference in sustainability awareness before experiments I and II of the implementation of the moral based issues model, there is no difference in critical thinking skills after experiments I and II of the implementation of the moral based issues model, there is no difference in sustainability awareness after experiments I and II of the implementation of the moral based issues model, there is a significant difference between before and after in increasing critical thinking skills after experiments I and II of the implementation of the moral based issues model, and there is a significant difference between before and after experiments I and II in increasing sustainability awareness after the implementation of the moral based issues model. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of moral based issues provides a new syntax that is integrated from the rational building model and problem based learning oriented towards education for sustainable development. The improvement of critical thinking skills and sustainability awareness is reviewed from the analysis of problems based on sustainable moral values.
