Abstract
Scientific literacy is one of the 21st century skills that is important for students to master to be able to solve modern problems. In biology learning, scientific literacy plays a role in deepening students' understanding of important topics. However, unfortunately the scientific literacy abilities of Indonesian students are still worrying. Therefore, accurate data is needed regarding the extent of students' scientific literacy to be used as material for future learning evaluations. The aim of this research is to obtain information regarding the scientific literacy profile of class X students based on the 2018 PISA Framework on the subject of biology. The method used is descriptive quantitative using test instruments and questionnaires. The sample used was 268 students from two state schools and two private schools. Sample selection was based on cluster random sampling. The research results show that students' attitudes and study habits tend to be good with average scores of 70% and 62% respectively. Even though students' attitudes and study habits are good, the average student's scientific literacy ability in the competency and knowledge aspects is only 39% and is classified as very low. This is due to various factors, including the poor quality of teacher learning and also teaching materials that focus too much on content aspects.
