Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dalam penguatan kesadaran politik siswa di SMA Al Biruni Cerdas Mulia Kota Bandung. Kesadaran politik adalah aspek penting dalam pendidikan kewarganegaraan yang membentuk generasi muda yang kritis dan partisipatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, melibatkan guru PKn dan siswa kelas XI sebagai subjek yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, analisis dokumen, dan angket sebagai data pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi CTL dalam pendidikan politik di sekolah ini berjalan dengan baik. Model ini berhasil mengaitkan konsep politik dengan kehidupan sehari-hari siswa, membuat pembelajaran lebih relevan dan menarik, serta memberikan penguatan terhadap kesadaran politik siswa. Faktor-faktor seperti dukungan sekolah, kompetensi guru, dan keterlibatan siswa berkontribusi terhadap keberhasilan ini. Namun, tantangan seperti keterbatasan waktu dalam kurikulum dan perbedaan latar belakang pengetahuan politik di antara siswa tetap ada. Untuk mengatasi tantangan tersebut, penyesuaian alokasi waktu pembelajaran dan peningkatan kompetensi guru melalui pelatihan sangat diperlukan. Pengembangan materi ajar yang lebih kontekstual dan penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif juga sangat disarankan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa model CTL efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran politik siswa, serta memiliki potensi untuk memperkuat pendidikan politik di tingkat SMA, guna membentuk warga negara yang bertanggung jawab dan aktif dalam demokrasi. This research aims to examine the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model in enhancing students' political awareness at SMA Al Biruni Cerdas Mulia Bandung City. Political awareness is a crucial aspect of civic education that shapes a critical and participative younger generation. This research employs a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, involving civic education teachers and 11th-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data was collected through observations, in-depth interviews, document analysis, and questionnaires as supporting data. The results show that the implementation of CTL in political education at this school has been successful. The model effectively connects political concepts to students' daily lives, making learning more relevant and engaging while strengthening their political awareness. Factors such as school support, teacher competence, and student involvement contribute to this success. However, challenges like limited curriculum time and differences in students' political knowledge backgrounds persist. To address these challenges, adjustments in the allocation of learning time and the enhancement of teacher competence through training are necessary. Developing more contextual teaching materials and using interactive learning media are also highly recommended. This study concludes that the CTL model is effective in improving students' understanding and political awareness, and it has the potential to strengthen political education at the high school level, aiming to shape responsible and active citizens in a democracy.
