Abstract

Pendidikan menuntut peserta didik memiliki keterampilan abad 21, salah satu keterampilan tersebut adalah berpikir kritis. Keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik saat ini masih berada pada keterampilan yang rendah, salah satunya disebabkan karena kualitas pembelajaran yang masih berfokus pada guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan peningkatan strategi keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada pembelajaran IPS materi kegiatan ekonomi melalui model cooperative tipe jigsaw; (2) menganalisis perbedaan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, dan (3) mendeskripsikan respon peserta didik terhadap proses pembelajaran cooperatie learning. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan adanya kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan jumlah 25 peserta didik pada masing-masing kelas. Instrument penelitian menggunakan soal pretest dan posttest serta angket berkala likert, dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada kelas eksperimen, terbukti dari peningkatan nilai posttest dibandingkan nilai pretest. Berdasarkan uji-t nilai pretest dan posttest ditemukan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Terdapat perbedaan antara nilai pretest dan posttest kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan uji-t menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Peserta didik memberikan respon positif terhadap penerapan strategi pembelajaran cooperative tipe jigsaw, ditunjukkan dengan nilai angket sebesar 66% yang menunjukkan strategi tersebut layak untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran. ------------- Education requires students to have 21st century skills, one of these skills is critical thinking. The critical thinking skills of students are currently still at a low skill, one of which is due to the quality of learning that still focuses on the teacher. This study aims to (1) describe the improvement of students' critical thinking skills strategies in learning social studies material on economic activities through the jigsaw type cooperative model; (2) analyze the difference in the improvement of thinking skills between the experimental class and the control class, and (3) describe the students' response to the cooperative learning process. The research method applied is a quasi-experiment with an experimental class and a control class with a total of 25 students in each class. The research instrument used pretest and posttest questions as well as periodic Likert questionnaires, and observation sheets. The results showed that there was an increase in critical thinking skills in the experimental class, as evidenced by the increase in posttest scores compared to pretest scores. Based on the t-test of pretest and posttest scores, it was found that the significance value was 0.000 <0.05. There is a difference between the pretest and posttest scores of the experimental and control classes with the t-test showing there is a significant difference with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. Students gave a positive response to the application of the jigsaw type cooperative learning strategy, indicated by a questionnaire value of 66% which showed that the strategy was feasible to use in learning.
