Abstract
Perkembangan industri gim dalam negeri menunjukkan pertumbuhan yang pesat, dengan tercatat sebanyak 256 gim di Platform Steam yang berhasil terjual antara 30.000 hingga 150.000 copy, menghasilkan pendapatan sekitar 6,235 miliar hingga 49,884 miliar Rupiah. Capaian ini tentu disertai dengan berbagai tantangan yang harus dihadapi selama proses produksi maupun pengembangan gim. Pengembangan gim Virtual Biotope merupakan salah satu contohnya. Pada awalnya, pengembangan gim ini hanya menggunakan System Requirement Specification sebagai acuan utama dalam prosesnya. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas pengembangan gim Virtual Biotope, diperlukan proses manajemen yang efektif untuk memantau kemajuan pengembangan serta dokumentasi yang menyatukan persepsi tim terhadap gim yang dikembangkan. Dalam rangka mencapai tujuan tersebut, metode Agile Scrum diterapkan sebagai pendekatan untuk memantau proses pengembangan, dan Game Design Document dipilih sebagai referensi utama dalam pengembangan gim ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode DRM sebagai kerangka utama dalam pelaksanaan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen pengembangan gim Virtual Biotope dilakukan dalam waktu pengembangan sebanyak 14 Sprint, yang dihitung menggunakan metode PERT. Penerapan Agile Scrum memberikan dampak positif karena mampu memantau proses pengembangan dan membantu dalam menganalisis serta menyelesaikan masalah yang muncul, sehingga pengembangan gim dapat diselesaikan tepat waktu. Selain itu, penggunaan Game Design Document juga berperan penting dalam menentukan prioritas tugas yang perlu diselesaikan terlebih dahulu serta membantu tim lebih memahami gim yang sedang dikembangkan. -------------- The development of the domestic game industry has shown rapid growth, with 256 games recorded on the Steam Platform, achieving sales ranging from 30,000 to 150,000 copies, generating revenue between 6.235 billion to 49.884 billion Rupiah. This achievement is accompanied by various challenges that must be overcome during the production and development processes of a game. The development of the Virtual Biotope game is one such example. Initially, the development of this game relied solely on the System Requirement Specification as the primary reference. To enhance the development quality of the Virtual Biotope game, an effective management process is required to monitor the development progress and ensure consistent documentation that aligns the team's understanding of the game being developed. To achieve this, the Agile Scrum method was implemented as the approach to monitor the development process, and the Game Design Document was selected as the primary reference in the development of this game. This research employed the DRM method as the main framework for conducting the study. The research findings indicate that the management of the Virtual Biotope game development was carried out over 14 Sprints, as calculated using the PERT method. The application of Agile Scrum had a positive impact by enabling effective monitoring of the development process and assisting in the analysis and resolution of issues that arose, thereby ensuring the game development was completed on time. Furthermore, the use of the Game Design Document played a crucial role in prioritizing tasks and helping the team better understand the game being developed
