Abstract
Ibu merupakan peran krusial dalam keluarga, khususnya dalam perkembangan siswa, sehingga kehadirannya sangat diperlukan. Namun, ada ibu yang tidak sepenuhnya menjalankan perannya sehingga terjadi kondisi motherless. Motherless adalah keadaan di mana seorang siswa tidak merasakan kehadiran ibu baik secara fisik maupun psikologis. Kondisi ini dapat berdampak negatif pada siswa, termasuk dalam aspek Pendidikan khususnya Self-Directed Learning. Dalam pendidikan, siswa membutuhkan self-directed learning atau kemampuan untuk belajar secara mandiri sejak dini guna menanamkan sifat tanggung jawab dalam mengatur dan mendisiplinkan diri dalam proses belajarnya, hal inipun akan berpengaruh dalam kehidupan siswa kelak siswa dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan juga mampu menendalikan diri sendiri dalam berfikir dan bertindak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan motherless dan self-directed learning pada siswa sekolah dasar di kecamatan Gedebage Kota Bandung. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Kuesioner diberikan kepada siswa kelas I, II, dan III yang sesuai dengan karakteristik penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan motherless dan self-directed learning pada siswa sekolah dasar, dengan hubungan sebesar 5,6%. Dukungan positif sangat penting diberikan kepada siswa, terutama yang mengalami motherless, untuk meningkatkan self-directed learning mereka. Orang tua, sekolah, dan guru perlu bekerja sama untuk membentuk self-directed learning pada siswa. ----------- Mother has a crucial role in the family, especially in student development, so their presence is very necessary. However, there are mothers who do not fully fulfill their role, resulting in a motherless condition. Motherlessness is a condition where a student does not feel the presence of a mother either physically or psychologically. This condition can have a negative impact on students, including in the educational aspect, especially Self-Directed Learning. In education, students need self-directed learning or the ability to learn independently from an early age in order to instill the nature of responsibility in organizing and disciplining themselves in the learning process. This will also have an impact on students' lives in the future. Students will be able to solve problems and be able to control themselves in thinking. and act. This research aims to examine the relationship between motherless and self-directed learning among elementary school students in the Gedebage sub-district, Bandung City. The approach used is a quantitative approach with a correlational method through distributing questionnaires. Questionnaires were given to students in grades I, II, and III according to the characteristics of this research. The research results show that there is a relationship between motherless and self-directed learning in elementary school students, with a relationship of 5.6%. Positive support is very important to give to students, especially those experiencing motherlessness, to improve their self-directed learning. Parents, schools and teachers need to work together to form self-directed learning in students.
