Abstract

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis menjadi sangat penting pada era revolusi industri 4.0. Namun sayangnya, keterampilan berpikir kritis di sekolah dasar masih tergolong rendah karena kurangnya media pembelajaran yang dapat memfasilitasi siswa untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritisnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbentuk website berbasis model Learning Cycle 5E pada materi Sistem pernapasan manusia di sekolah dasar yang valid, reliabel, dan praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran dengan nama Berpesan yang merupakan akronim dari “Belajar Perihal Sistem Pernapasan”. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Design and Development (D&D) tipe 2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada tahap analisis ditemukan urgensi untuk mengembangkan media Berpesan berbasis model Learning Cycle 5E sebagai solusi untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Kelayakan media divalidasi oleh ahli media, ahli materi, ahli bahasa dan ahli pembelajaran. Di mana media Berpesan dinyatakan realibel dan valid, sehingga layak digunakan dengan catatan hasil perbaikan. Respon pengguna menunjukkan hasil yang sangat baik. Selanjutnya, untuk hasil keterlaksanaan model Learning Cycle 5E juga menujukkan hasil sangat baik. Hasil soal pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis yang tinggi. Pada setiap aspek berpikir kritis, yaitu memberikan penjelasan sederhana masuk dalam kategori tinggi, aspek membangun keterampilan dasar pada kategori tinggi, aspek menyimpulkan kategori sedang aspek membuat penjelasan lebih lanjut kategori tinggi, dan aspek strategi dan taktik kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Berpesan berbasis model Learning Cycle 5E sangat baik digunakan untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V. Terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis setelah dilakukan pembelajaran menggunakan media Berpesan berbasis model Learning Cycle 5E. ---------- The research results indicate that critical thinking skills are becoming increasingly important in the era of Industry 4.0. Unfortunately, critical thinking skills in elementary schools are still relatively low due to the lack of learning media that can facilitate students to practice their critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to develop a web-based learning media based on the 5E Learning Cycle model on the material of the human respiratory system in elementary schools that is valid, reliable, and practical to use in learning, named Berpesan which is an acronym for "Belajar Perihal Sistem Pernapasan". This research is a type 2 Design and Development (D&D) research. The results of the study showed that at the analysis stage, there was an urgency to develop Berpesan media based on the 5E Learning Cycle model as a solution to train students' critical thinking skills. The media's feasibility was validated by media experts, material experts, language experts, and learning experts. Where the Berpesan media is stated to be reliable and valid, so it is suitable to be used with notes on the results of improvements. User responses show very good results. Furthermore, the results of the implementation of the 5E Learning Cycle model also show very good results. The results of the pre-test and post-test show that students experienced a high increase in critical thinking skills. In every aspect of critical thinking, namely providing simple explanations is in the high category, building basic skills is in the high category, concluding is in the medium category, making further explanations is in the high category, and strategies and tactics are in the high category. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the Berpesan media based on the 5E Learning Cycle model is very good for training the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students. significant enhancement in critical thinking abilities was observed following instruction utilizing Media Berpesan-based Learning Cycle 5E model.
