Abstract
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan observasi peneliti pada pembelajaran membaca Bahasa Indonesia di suatu sekolah dasar negeri di Kota Bandung. Pada pembelajarannya peserta didik fase C terlihat kesulitan untuk memahami bacaan. Selain itu peneliti juga mengamati bahwa dalam pembelajarannya guru masih menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional yang tidak melibatkan peserta didik untuk ikut aktif dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model cooperative integrated reading composition (CIRC) untuk meingkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman fase C sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan model PTK Kemmis & Mc. Taggart. Model penelitian ini terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan/observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian yang diguanakan adalah peserta didik fase C sebanyak 36 peserta didik yang terdiri dari 17 peserta didik laki-laki dan 19 peserta didik perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Penerapan model cooperative integrated reading composition (CIRC) oleh peneliti dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus. Hasil penelitian pelaksanaan pembelajaran berjalan dengan baik sesuai harapan peneliti meskipun pada penelitian siklus I masih terdapat beberapa kekurangan tetapi dapat di perbaiki di siklus II. Keterampilan membaca pemahaman pada siklus I naik menjadi 66% dengan rata-rata nilai 70. Lalu meningkat lagi menjadi 80% dengan rata-rata nilai 80 pada siklus II. Berdasarkan data tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model cooperative integrated reading composition (CIRC) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks eksposisi pada peserta didik fase C sekolah dasar. This research was conducted based on the researcher's observations of learning to read Indonesian at a state elementary school in Bandung. In the learning phase C students seemed to have difficulty understanding sentences. Apart from that, researchers also observed that in their learning teachers still used conventional learning models which did not involve students being actively engaged in learning. This research aims to describe the application of the cooperative integrated reading composition (CIRC) model to improve reading comprehension skills in phase C in elementary schools. The research method used is classroom action research (PTK) with the Kemmis & Mc PTK model. Taggart. This research model consists of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects used were 36 phase C students consisting of 17 male students and 19 female students. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and tests. The researcher implemented the cooperative integrated reading composition (CIRC) learning model in two cycles. The results of the research on the implementation of learning went well according to the researchers' expectations, although in the first cycle of research, there were still several shortcomings but they could be corrected in the second cycle. Reading comprehension skills in cycle I rose to 66% with an average score of 70. Then increased again to 80% with an average value of 80 in cycle II. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the application of the cooperative integrated reading composition (CIRC) learning model can improve the ability to read and understand exposition texts in phase C elementary school students.
