Abstract
Penyesuaian sosial merupakan proses yang dialami oleh individu ketika berhadapan dengan lingkungan di luar individu, seperti lingkungan rumah, sekolah dan masyarakat. Mahasiswa perantau mengalami kesulitan dalam melakukan penyesuaian, salah satunya penyesuaian sosial. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendekripsikan karakteristik penyesuaian sosial beberapa mahasiswa perantau. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah beberapa mahasiswa perantau tingkat awal di Univeritas Pendidikan Indonesia. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan penyesuaian sosial mahasiswa perantau di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia memiliki penyesuaian sosial yang baik karena mampu menghormati hak orang lain, mampu bergaul dengan orang lain, memiliki minat dan simpati terhadap orang lain, memiliki sikap rendah hati dan tidak egois, dan mampu menghormati tradisi dan kebiasaan yang ada di Bandung. Social adjustment is a process experienced by individuals when dealing with environments outside the individual, such as the home, school and community environment. Migrant students experience difficulties in making adjustments, one of which is social adjustment. The aim of this research is to describe the characteristics of the social adjustment of some migrant students. The approach used is qualitative with descriptive methods. The subjects in this research were several entry-level migrant students at the Indonesian University of Education. The findings of this research show that the social adjustment of migrant students at the Indonesian University of Education has good social adjustment because they are able to respect the rights of others, are able to get along with other people, have interest and sympathy for other people, have a humble and unselfish attitude, and are able to respect traditions. and customs in Bandung.
