Abstract
This research is motivated by the lack of reading comprehension skills of students in SDN Pancasila, Bandung Barat Regency. The purpose of this study is to find out whether the REAP strategy is effective on reading comprehension in Indonesian language learning in phase C students. This research is a quantitative research with a pre-experimental design. The experimental design used is one group pretest-posttest. The population of this study consists of 101 fifth-grade students, with a sample of 33 students was selected using purposive sampling. The data collection technique used the test and the data processing technique used the calculation of the Wilcoxon test and the N-Gain test. The results of this study were an average of 49.39 for the pretest while 85.30 for the posttest. This indicates an increase of 35.91. The results of data analysis with the Wilcoxon test obtained ρ 0.000 < α 0.05, which means that there is a difference in the reading comprehension achievement of students in Indonesian language learning with the REAP strategy. Furthermore, the results of data analysis with the N-Gain test were 0.717 and it falls into the high category. Based on this description, it can be concluded that the REAP strategy is effective on reading comprehension in Indonesian language learning in phase C students.
