Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran program pesantren mahasiswa dalam meningkatkan literasi keagamaan mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi umum. Maraknya radikalisasi pemikiran yang dihadapi di tengah multikulturalisme perguruan tinggi berdampak pada pembentukan sikap liberalisme dan ekstremisme seperti intoleransi, aksi kekerasan dan merasa paling benar. Realitas ini akan berdampak negatif pada moralitas dan pemahaman agama serta kualitas karakter pelajar Indonesia. Lembaga pendidikan menjadi lingkungan yang sangat tepat sekaligus habitual yang baik dalam mengembangkan literasi. Pesantren mahasiswa menunjukkan potensi untuk menjadi salah satu sarana efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterlibatan mahasiswa terhadap nilai-nilai agama secara intensif dan integratif di perguruan tinggi umum. Minimnya porsi belajar pendidikan agama islam di lembaga pendidikan formal, dianggap terlalu sempit dan tidak memadai sehingga membutuhkan penguatan untuk dapat mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Program pesantren mahasiswa merupakan salah satu upaya pendidikan yang mengintegrasikan prinsip-prinsip pesantren tradisional dalam kehidupan akademik mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus di Pondok Pesantren Al-Barokah Kota Bandung dengan subjek penelitian mahasiswa di beberapa perguruan tinggi umum di Kota Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan dokumentasi serta analisis data menggunakan NVivo 12 pro. penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pesantren mahasiswa berkontribusi signifikan dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan praktik keagamaan mahasiswa. Hal ini didukung oleh temuan bahwa kurikulum dan program-program yang dilaksanakan di pesantren mahasiswa memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan literasi keagamaan mahasiswa yang membentuk karakter moderasi beragama dikalangan mahasiswa. This research aims to explore the role of student Islamic boarding school programs in increasing the religious literacy of students in public universities. The increasing radicalization of thought faced in the midst of multiculturalism in higher education has an impact on the formation of attitudes of liberalism and extremism such as intolerance, acts of violence and feeling right. This reality will have a negative impact on the morality and understanding of religion as well as the quality of character of Indonesian students. Educational institutions are a very appropriate and good habitual environment for developing literacy. Student Islamic boarding schools show the potential to become an effective means of increasing students' understanding and involvement in religious values in an intensive and integrative manner in public universities. The minimal portion of Islamic religious education learning in formal educational institutions is considered too narrow and inadequate and requires strengthening to be able to achieve learning goals. The student Islamic boarding school program is an educational effort that integrates traditional Islamic boarding school principles into student academic life. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method at the Al-Barokah Islamic Boarding School, Bandung City, with research subjects being students at several public universities in Bandung City. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation and data analysis using NVivo 12 pro. This research shows that Islamic boarding school students contribute significantly in increasing students' religious knowledge, understanding and practice. This is supported by the finding that the curriculum and programs implemented in student Islamic boarding schools have a positive impact on increasing students' religious literacy which shapes the character of religious moderation among students.
