Abstract

Pembelajaran IPS di sekolah dasar sering kali menghadapi tantangan dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan model pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis implementasi model pembelajaran Case Based Learning (CBL) dan Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada IPS dengan materi ASEAN di kelas VI Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VI di SD Kartika X-3 yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok: kelompok eksperimen yang menggunakan model CBL dan PBL, serta kelompok kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes kemampuan berpikir kritis, lembar observasi, dan angket respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model CBL dan PBL dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Siswa yang belajar dengan model CBL dan PBL menunjukkan peningkatan yang lebih besar dalam aspek menginterpretasi, menganalisis, mengevaluasi , menginferen, menjelaskan, serta regulasi diri. Dengan demikian, implementasi model CBL terbukti efektif, model PBL tidak efektif dan model konvensional tidak efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada pembelajaran IPS materi ASEAN di kelas VI Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi para pendidik dalam memilih dan mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. ---------- Social studies learning in elementary schools often faces challenges in developing students' critical thinking skills. Therefore, a learning model is needed that is able to improve these abilities. The aim of this research is to analyze the implementation of Case Based Learning (CBL) and Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning models on students' critical thinking skills in social studies with ASEAN material in class VI elementary schools. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects were class VI students at SD Kartika Research instruments include critical thinking ability tests, observation sheets, and student response questionnaires to learning. The results of the research show that there are significant differences in critical thinking abilities between students who take part in CBL and PBL learning models compared to students who take part in conventional learning. Students who learn with CBL and PBL models show greater improvements in the aspects of interpreting, analyzing, evaluating, inferring, explaining, and self-regulation. Thus, the implementation of the CBL model was proven to be effective, the PBL model was ineffective and the conventional model was not effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in learning social studies on ASEAN material in class VI elementary schools. It is hoped that this research can be a reference for educators in choosing and developing more effective learning strategies to improve students' critical thinking abilities.
