Abstract
Kemampuan membaca siswa menjadi salah satu kunci dalam proses pembelajaran. Kecepatan efektif membaca (KEM) dibutuhkan siswa agar dapat terbiasa membaca dengan cepat dan tepat. Kemampuan membaca melibatkan dua hal pokok, yaitu banyaknya waktu yang dibutuhkan dalam membaca serta pemahaman yang tepat tentang isi suatu bacaan. Tujuan penelitian ini antara lain: 1) Mengetahui kecepatan efektif membaca (KEM) siswa sekolah dasar yang mendapat penerapan teknik Trifokus Steve Snyder lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang mendapat penerapan pembelajaran konvensional; 2) Mengetahui pengaruh teknik Trifokus Steve Snyder dalam meningkatkan kecepatan efektif membaca (KEM) siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent pretest postest dengan instrument tes yang digunakan yaitu teks eskposisi sebagai teks yang dipakai saat tes KEM di kelas V sekolah dasar dengan jumlah subjek sebanyak 56 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan kesimpulan: 1) Terdapat pengaruh dalam pembelajaran yang menerapkan teknik Trifokus Steve Snyder terhadap Kecepatan Efektif Membaca Siswa sekolah dasar berdasarkan hasil uji koefisien determinasi teknik Trifokus Steve Snyder memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kecepatan efektif membaca siswa sebesar 75,6%. ; 2) Peningkatan kecepatan efektif membaca siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan teknik Trifokus Steve Snyder lebih baik daripada Siswa yang tidak mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan teknik Trifokus Steve Snyder. Dengan demikian bahwa pembelajaran dengan menggunakan teknik Trifokus Steve Snyder dapat dijadikan alternatif pembelajaran dalam materi membaca pemahaman, tetapi juga digunakan dalam materi lain atau mata pelajaran lain. ----- Students' reading ability is one of the keys to the learning process. Effective reading speed (KEM) is needed for students to get used to reading quickly and accurately. Reading ability involves two main things, namely the amount of time required to read and proper understanding of the content of a reading. The objectives of this research include: 1) To determine the effective reading speed (KEM) of elementary school students who apply Steve Snyder's Trifocus technique better than students who use conventional learning; 2) Know the effect of Steve Snyder's Trifocus technique in increasing students' effective reading speed (KEM). The research method used was quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest design with the test instrument used, namely descriptive text as the text used during the KEM test in class V elementary school with a total of 56 students as subjects. Based on the research results, the conclusions are: 1) There is an influence in learning that applies Steve Snyder's Trifocus technique on the effective reading speed of elementary school students. Based on the results of the coefficient of determination test, Steve Snyder's Trifocus technique has a positive and significant influence on students' effective reading speed of 75.6% ; 2) Increasing the effective reading speed of students who receive learning using Steve Snyder's Trifocus technique is better than students who do not receive learning using Steve Snyder's Trifocus technique. Thus, learning using Steve Snyder's Trifocus technique can be used as an alternative learning method in reading comprehension material, but it can also be used in other materials or other subjects.
