Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahya kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas IV. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui aktivitas guru dan siswa serta bagaimana kemampuan membaca pemahamanan siswa setelah penerapan model kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share berbantuan media buku digital untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman dengan materi cerita fabel. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada kelas IV dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 22 siswa, diantaranya 11 siswa laki-laki dan 11 siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari 2 siklus yang masing-masing siklusnya dilakukan 1 kali pertemuan. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil data menunjukkan pada siklus I siswa yang tuntas belajar sebanyak 4 siswa dengan rata-rata kelas 58,68. Pada siklus II siswa yang tuntas belajar meningkat sebanyak 14 siswa dengan rata-rata kelas 81,09. Dengan demikian penerapan model kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share berbantuan media buku digital memberikan pengaruh yang baik terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas IV. Peneliti merekomendasikan untuk penelitian selanjutnya untuk menerapkan media yang menarik minat baca siswa. ----- This study was motivated by the low reading comprehension skills of fourth grade students. The purpose of this study was to determine the activities of teachers and students as well as how students' reading comprehension skills after the application of the Think Pair Share type cooperative model assisted by digital book media to improve reading comprehension skills with fable story material. This research was conducted in class IV with a total of 22 students, including 11 male students and 11 female students. This research used Classroom Action Research (PTK) method which consisted of 2 cycles, each cycle was conducted once a meeting. The instruments used in this research are observation, tests and documentation. From the results of the data shows that in cycle I students who completed learning were 4 students with a class average of 58.68. In cycle II, students who completed learning increased by 14 students with a class average of 81.09. Thus the application of the Think Pair Share type cooperative model with digital book media has a good effect on the reading comprehension skills of grade IV students. Researchers recommend for further research to apply media that attract students' interest in reading.
