Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN 1 Jatimekar dengan subjek penelitian berjumlah 12 orang siswa. Adapun tujuan dilaksanakan penelitian ini ialah untuk memperbaiki kegiatan pembelajaran sehingga adanya peningkatan aktivitas guru dan siswa serta meningkatkan hasil keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah penelitian tindakan kelas. Berdasarkan hasil siklus 1, diketahui bahwa siswa yang telah tuntas mencapai persentase sebesar 33% dan yang belum tuntas sebesar 66%. Jumlah siswa yang tuntas belajar sebanyak 4 orang, sedangkan siswa yang tidak tuntas belajar sebanyak 8 siswa. Pada siklus 2 siswa yang telah tuntas mencapai persentase sebesar 92% dan yang belum tuntas sebesar 8% dengan jumlah siswa tuntas belajar sebanyak 11 orang, sedangkan siswa yang tidak tuntas belajar sebanyak 1 orang. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa. ----- The aim of this study is to enhance learning activities, thereby increasing the engagement of both teacher and students, and improving the reading comprehension skills of fifth-grade students through the implementation of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition learning model. This research was conducted at SDN 1 Jatimekar with 12 subjects involved in a class action research design. Based on the results of cycle 1, it is known that the percentage of students who have completed it is 33% and those who have not completed it is 66%, with 4 students completing the study, while 8 did not. In Cycle 2, the percentage of students who had completed it was 92% and those who had not yet completed it was 8%, with 11 students completing the study, and only 1 student not completing it. It can be concluded that the application of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition learning model effectively enhances students' reading comprehension skills.
