Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas modul ajar pendekatan saintifik untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep materi ekosistem peserta didik kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep yang dimiliki oleh peserta didik pada materi tersebut serta masih jarang digunakannya modul ajar dalam pembelajaran IPAS. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experiment dengan design one group pretest posttest design. Populasi yang digunakan adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas V Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Tanjungkerta. Sampel yang terpilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling adalah peserta didik kelas V di salah satu SDN di Kecamatan Tanjungkerta, Kabupaten Sumedang yang berjumlah 23 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes yang berbentuk soal uraian berjumlah 10 butir soal. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas, uji perbedaan rata-rata menggunakan uji Paired Sample T-test dan uji efektivitas menggunakan Uji Gain Ternormalisasi (N-Gain). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh peserta didik sebelum diberikan treatment berupa penggunaan modul ajar pendekatan saintifik adalah 35,93 sedangkan rata-rata peserta didik setelah diberikan treatment adalah 85,64. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan dari penggunaan modul ajar pendekatan saintifik untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPAS materi ekosistem peserta didik kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Hasil tersebut sesuai dengan uji paired sample t-test sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 (taraf signifikansi). Besarnya keefektifan pada treatment yang diberikan dibuktikan dengan uji gain ternormalisasi sebesar 76% yang berada pada kriteria keefektifan tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul ajar pendekatan saintifik efektif dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPAS materi ekosistem peserta didik kelas V Sekolah Dasar. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of scientific approach teaching modules to increase understanding of ecosystem concepts in class V elementary school students. This research was motivated by students' low understanding of the concepts in this material and the rare use of teaching modules in science learning. The research method used was pre-experiment with a one-group pretest posttest design. The population used was all grade V elementary school students in Tanjungkerta District. The sample selected using a purposive sampling technique was 23 class V students at one of the elementary schools in Tanjungkerta District, Sumedang Regency. The instrument used is a test instrument in the form of essay questions totalling 10 questions. The data analysis used was the normality test, the average difference test using the Paired Sample T-test, and the effectiveness test using the Normalized Gain Test (N-Gain). The results of this research show that the average score obtained by students before being given treatment in the form of using scientific approach teaching modules was 35.93, while the average score for students after being given treatment was 85.64. This shows that there is a significant average difference in the use of scientific approach teaching modules to increase understanding of science and science concepts in ecosystem material for class V elementary school students. These results are in accordance with the paired sample t-test of 0.000 < 0.05 (significance level). The high effectiveness of the treatment provided is proven by a normalized gain test of 76% which is within the criteria for high effectiveness. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the scientific approach teaching module can effectively increase the understanding of science and science concepts in ecosystem material for class V elementary school students.
