Abstract

ABSTRAK Rizki Puspita Sari (2000106), Analisis Kesalahan Siswa Berkepribadian Ekstrovert dan Introvert dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Cerita Materi Barisan dan Deret Geometri Berdasarkan Tahapan Newman. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah bentuk soal cerita penting dimiliki oleh siswa karena diperlukan dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berikir siswa. Tipe kepribadian siswa dapat menyebabkan perbedaaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa ekstrovert dan introvert dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita barisan dan deret geometri berdasarkan tahapan Newman. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan desaian studi kasus. Terdapat 6 subjek penelitian yaitu 3 siswa berkepribadian ekstrovert dan 3 siswa berkepribadian introvert. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui angket tipe kepribadian, tes soal cerita barisan dan deret geometri, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa subjek dengan kecendrungan tipe kepribadian ekstrovert melakukan kesalahan utama pada tahapan memahami dan penulisan jawaban. Disisi lain, subjek dengan kecendrungan tipe kepribadian ekstrovert juga melakukan kesalahan pada tahapan transformasi dan keterampilan proses. Subjek dengan kecendrungan tipe kepribadian introvert melakukan kesalahan utama pada tahapan transformasi. Disisi lain siswa dengan kecendrungan tipe kepribadian introvert juga melakukan kesalahan pada tahapan memahami, keterampilan proses, dan penulisan jawaban. Penyebab kesalahan siswa dengan kecendrungan tipe kepribadian ekstrovert adalah kekurangan dalam penguasaan bahasa dan tergesa-gesa, tidak terbiasa membuat jawaban secara lengkap sampai pada kesimpulan akhir, tidak paham cara menggunakan simbol matematika, dan kurang dalam penguasaan materi baik materi yang sedang dipelajari maupun materi prasyarat seperti rumus atau prosedur yang harus dipahami. Penyebab kesalahan siswa dengan kecendrungan tipe kepribadian introvert adalah mencoba menyelesaikan soal menggunakan strateginya sendiri dan kebiasaan salah dalam penulisan pemisalan yang tidak diluruskan guru. The ability to solve problems in the form of story questions is important for students to have because it is needed to develop students' thinking abilities. Student personality types can cause differences in mathematical problems solving abilities. This research aims to describe the mistakes made by extrovert and introvert students in solving sequence and geometric series story problems based on Newman's stages. This research is qualitative research with a case study design. There were 6 research subjects, namely 3 students with extroverted personalities and 3 students with introverted personalities. The data in this research was obtained through a personality type questionnaire, story test about sequences and geometric series, interviews, and documentation. The results of the analysis showed that subjects with an extroverted personality type tendency made major mistakes at the stages of understanding and writing answers. On the other hand, subjects with an extroverted personality type tendency also made mistakes at the stages of transformation and process skills. Subjects with introverted personality type tendencies made major mistakes at the transformation stage. On the other hand, students with introverted personality types also make mistakes at the stages of understanding, processing skills, and writing answers. The causes of mistakes made by students with an extroverted personality type are deficiencies in language mastery and being in a hurry, not being used to making complete answers to the final conclusion, not understanding how to use mathematical symbols, and lacking in mastery of the material both the material being studied and prerequisite material such as formulas or procedures that must be understood. The causes of mistakes made by students with introverted personality types are trying to solve questions using their own strategies and the habit of making mistakes in writing examples that are not corrected by the teacher.
