Abstract
This research is based on the existence of learning that has yet to fully provide independence for students in thinking and crafting, which is related to selecting the learning model that needs to be adjusted. This study aims to test and find out the effectiveness of the PjBL (Project-Based Learning) model in improving the creative thinking skills of Phase C students in Social and Environmental Sciences learning in elementary schools. This research uses a quantitative method with a Pre Experiment design type One Group Pretest - Posttest Design. The sample selected in this study was the fifth-grade students of SDN Z Tasikmalaya City. As many as 30 students were selected using the purposive sampling technique. This study used the test instrument as a pretest and posttest with an open-ended type of description totalling 15 questions. Furthermore, data analysis was conducted through statistical validity, reliability, normality, paired sample t-tests, and n-gain tests. Based on the data obtained, the test instrument used in this study is valid with a very high level of reliability, normally distributed and the n-gain value is in the moderately effective category. Based on these results, the project-based learning model effectively improves Phase C students' creative thinking skills in Social and Environmental Science learning.
