Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan sosial siswa yang ditemui di kelas khususnya pada aspek keterampilan berkomunikasi, menjalin hubungan baik dengan orang lain, menyesuaikan diri pada peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan upaya meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe numbered heads together dalam pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas dengan konsep desain spiral dari Kemmis dan Mc.Taggart yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi, catatan lapangan, wawancara dan angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu teknik analisis deksriptif terhadap data berupa catatan lapangan dan lembar observasi serta perhitungan data hasil penilaian sikap. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas VIII-F SMP Negeri 26 Bandung sebanyak 3 siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together dapat meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa pada pembelajaran IPS. Pertumbuhan keterampilan sosial siswa pada pada siklus terakhir atau siklus 3 dinilai hampir semua penilaian instrumen dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran sudah mangalami peningkatan semakin baik, sehingga mampu mencapai target ketuntasan yang peneliti harapkan. Dengan demikian, melihat hasil-hasil yang didapatkan dari setiap siklusnya dapat dikatakan bahwa upaya penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe numbered heads together dapat meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas VIII-F SMP Negeri 26 Bandung. Implikasi penelitian ini yaitu keterampilan sosial dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berinteraksi dan berkomunikasi dengan baik. This research was motivated by the low social skills of students found in class, especially in the aspects of communication skills, establishing good relationships with other people, adapting to students. The aim of this research is to describe efforts to improve students' social skills through the numbered heads together type cooperative learning model in social studies learning. This research uses a classroom action research method with the spiral design concept from Kemmis and Mc. Taggart which consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques use observation sheets, field notes, interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is a descriptive analysis technique for data in the form of field notes and observation sheets as well as calculations of data from attitude assessment results. This research was conducted in class VIII-F of SMP Negeri 26 Bandung for 3 cycles. The results of the research show that implementing the Numbered Heads Together cooperative learning model can improve students' social skills in social studies learning. The growth of students' social skills in the last cycle or cycle 3 was assessed by almost all instrument assessments in the implementation of learning to have improved, so that they were able to achieve the completion target that researchers hoped. Thus, looking at the results obtained from each cycle, it can be said that efforts to implement the numbered heads together type cooperative learning model can improve students' social skills in social studies learning in class VIII-F of SMP Negeri 26 Bandung. The implication of this research is that social skills can improve the ability to interact and communicate well.
