Abstract

Pembelajaran geometri khususnya materi bangun ruang di sekolah dasar belum tersampaikan secara sistematis. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan proses konstruksi pengetahuan pada peserta didik tidak terbentuk secara sempurna. Peserta didik sulit merepresentasikan pengetahuannya pada hal-hal konkret dan kemampuan visualisasi spasial belum terbentuk secara sempurna. Pentingnya membentuk kemampuan visualisasi spasial yang optimal dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk memecahkan permasalahan dengan baik perlu menjadi atensi dan diupayakan, salah satunya melalui model pembelajaran yang dapat memfasilitasi peserta didik dalam mengonstruksi pengetahuannya dan memvisualisasikan hal-hal abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan visualisasi spasial peserta didik yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah menerapkan model pembelajaran RADEC. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental design bentuk one group pretest-posttest design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 30 peserta didik kelas V salah satu sekolah dasar di Kota Bandung Provinsi Jawa Barat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan visualisasi spasial peserta didik yang signifikan saat menggunakan model pembelajaran RADEC. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan analisis uji Paired Sample T-Test yang menunjukkan nilai 0,000. Dengan adanya kaidah keputusan 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05 maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Seberapa besar keefektifannya dibuktikan dengan uji N-Gain sebesar 60,72 yang berada pada kriteria sedang. Nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah diberikan treatment model pembelajaran RADEC meningkat sebesar 87%. Nilai rata-rata tersebut diperoleh dari hasil pretest dan posttest peserta didik pada materi bangun ruang. Geometry learning, especially the material of building space in elementary school has not been delivered systematically. This results in the process of knowledge construction in students is not formed perfectly. Students find it difficult to represent their knowledge on concrete things and spatial visualization skills have not been formed perfectly. The importance of forming optimal spatial visualization skills in mathematics learning to solve problems well needs to be paid attention to and pursued, one of which is through a learning model that can facilitate students in constructing their knowledge and visualizing abstract things. This study aims to determine the significant increase in students' spatial visualization ability between before and after applying the RADEC learning model. This research used quantitative method with pre-experimental design in the form of one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were 30 fifth grade students of one of the elementary schools in Bandung City, West Java Province. The results showed a significant increase in students' spatial visualization ability when using the RADEC learning model. This is evidenced by the Paired Sample T-Test analysis which shows a value of 0.000. With the decision rule of 0.000 smaller than 0.05, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. How much effectiveness is proven by the N-Gain test of 60.72 which is in the medium criteria. The average score obtained by students before and after being given the RADEC learning model treatment increased by 87%. The average value is obtained from the results of students' pretest and posttest on the material of building space.
