Abstract
Karakter prososial merupakan tindakan sukarela yang didorong oleh kepedulian sesama dalam memberikan pertolongan tanpa mengharapkan imbalan. Dalam membangun karakter prososial pada diri siswa tentu tidak terlepas dari peran guru di sekolah. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana realitas karakter prososial siswa di sekolah serta bagaimana persepsi Guru PAI terhadap karakter prososial dan bagaimana peran Guru PAI di dalam dan di luar proses pembelajaran dalam membangun karakter prososial siswa. Riset ini penting dilakukan karena dewasa ini, siswa cenderung bersifat individualistis dan kurang rasa kepedulian terhadap lingkungan. Apabila hal tersebut tidak segera diatasi, dapat mengakibatkan karakter ketidakpedulian dan tidak menghargai usaha atau hasil kerja seseorang di lingkungan sekitar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus di SMP Negeri 19 Bandung melalui teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sedikit siswa yang menunjukkan perilaku antisosial. Siswa dominan menunjukkan karakter prososial dengan berbagi, bekerja sama, menolong, bederma, dan bertindak jujur pada kehidupan sehari-hari di sekolah yang sejalan dengan persepsi Guru PAI terhadap karakter prososial. Guru PAI juga menunjukkan peranannya dalam membangun karakter prososial siswa dengan perannya sebagai pendidik dan pembimbing, teladan, motivator, serta fasilitator bagi perkembangan karakter prososial siswa. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada pentingnya peran Guru PAI dalam membuat program untuk membangun karakter prososial siswa dan kemudian mereka sendiri yang membimbing dan menguatkan program-program tersebut baik di dalam maupun di luar kelas. Prosocial character is a voluntary action driven by concern for others in providing help without expecting rewards. In building prosocial character in students, it is certainly inseparable from the role of teachers at school. So this research aims to see how the reality of students' prosocial character at school and how PAI teachers' perceptions of prosocial character and how the role of PAI teachers inside and outside the learning process in building students' prosocial character. This research is important because today, students tend to be individualistic and lack a sense of concern for the environment. If this is not addressed immediately, it can result in a character of indifference and disrespect for the efforts or work of someone in the surrounding environment. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method at SMP Negeri 19 Bandung through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results showed that few students showed antisocial behavior. Students dominantly show prosocial character by sharing, cooperating, helping, giving, and acting honestly in daily life at school which is in line with the PAI teacher's perception of prosocial character. PAI teachers also demonstrate their role in building students' prosocial character with their role as educators and mentors, role models, motivators, and facilitators for the development of students' prosocial character. This study implies the importance of the role of PAI teachers in creating programs to build students' prosocial character and then they themselves guide and strengthen these programs both inside and outside the classroom.
