Abstract
Nilai karakter pada siswa untuk membangun modal sosial dengan adanya pengaruh lingkungan sosial, kondisi di lingkungan sekitar rumah, keluarga, dan lingkungan pertemanan. Penelitian ini dilakukan mengetahui nilai karakter dalam pembelajaran IPS untuk membangun modal sosial. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode deskriptif digunakan karena data yang dihasilkan ialah data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis atau lisan dari orang-orang dan perilaku yang diamati. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 29 Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Adanya permasalahan yang menarik dari siswa adalah nilai karakter jujur, peduli sosial dan tanggung jawab. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dalam nilai karakter dengan modal sosial dapat dilakukan dengan mengajarkan jaringan sosial, kerja sama, yang didalamnya memuat karakteristik adab yang memuat nilai-nilai karakter. Faktor-faktor yang mendukung dan menghambat menginternalisasikan nilai karakter dalam pembelajaran IPS untuk membangun modal sosial peserta didik di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 29 Bandung. Faktor yang mendukung tercapainya tujuan sekolah dalam nilai karakter yang berkaitan dengan modal sosial seperti guru memberikan tauladan yang baik kepada siswa contohnya pembiasaan dirumah, sekolah dan ikut kegiatan keagamaan, kemudian keluarga yang selalu memberikan motivasi dan pengertian kepada anaknya. Faktor menghambat disekolah juga sangat berpengaruh dalam internalisasi nilai karakter contohnya media sosial yang berisi hoax, caci maki, serta pergaulan diluar rumah dan luar sekolah. Upaya meningkatkan nilai karakter siswa tentunya dibutuhkan kesabaran dan ketekunan guru selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Value of character in students is to build social capital with the influence of the social environment, conditions in the environment around the home, family, and circle of friends. This research was conducted to determine the value of character in social studies learning to build social capital. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The descriptive method is used because the data produced is descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observed behavior. The subjects of this research were teachers and students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 29 Bandung. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation studies. The problems that interest students are the character values of honesty, social care and responsibility. The results of this research are that character values with social capital can be done by teaching social networks, cooperation, which contains the characteristics of etiquette which contains character values. Factors that support and hinder internalizing character values in social studies learning to build students' social capital in class VIII SMP Negeri 29 Bandung. Factors that support the achievement of school goals are character values related to social capital, such as teachers providing good role models for students, for example getting used to being at home, school and participating in religious activities, then families who always provide motivation and understanding to their children. Inhibitory factors at school are also very influential in the internalization of character values, for example social media which contains hoaxes, verbal abuse, and relationships outside the home and outside school. Efforts to increase students' character values certainly require the teacher's patience and perseverance during the learning process.
