    Abstract

    Peserta didik tunanetra di SLB N A Pajajaran Kota Bandung memiliki permasalahan dalam pembelajaran di sekolah dalam menggunakan tulisan Braille sebab banyak memakan waktu yang cukup lama, membutuhkan tenaga lebih serta menghabiskan kertas sebab penulisannya yang panjang. Permasalahan ini bisa di atasi degan menggunakan tulisan singkat Braille yang mana tulisan singkat Braille merupakan sistem penyingkatan penulisan kata, bagian kata atau frase, yang dibakukan secara nasional. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tulisan singkat Braille terhadap keterampilan menyalin teks cerita pendek (cerpen) bagi peserta didik tunanetra di SLB N A Pajajaran Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pre – eksperimen menggunakan one group pre – test post – test. Populasi dan sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 6 orang yang menduduki kelas 11 SMA. Hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan hipotesis yang diajukan dapat diterima yaitu terdapat pengaruh penggunaan tulisan singkat Braille terhadap keterampilan menyalin teks cerita pendek (cerpen) bagi peserta didik tunanetra di SLB N A Pajajaran Kota Bandung. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan melihat hasil pre – test dan post – test yang telah dilakukan dan telah diujikan dengan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rekomendasi bagi guru untuk menggunakan tulisan singkat Braille sebagai alternatif peningkatan keterampilan menyalin teks cerita pendek (cerpen) bagi peserta didik tunanetra SLB N A Pajajaran.

    Blind students at SLB N A Pajajaran Bandung City have problems in learning at school using Braille because it takes a lot of time, requires more energy and uses up paper because the writing is long. This problem can be overcome by using Braille shorthand, where Braille shorthand is an abbreviation system for writing words, parts of words or phrases, which is standardized nationally. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of using short Braille writing on the skills of copying short story texts for blind students at SLB N A Pajajaran, Bandung City. This research uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method using one group pre-test post-test. The population and sample in this study were 6 people who were in grade 11 of high school. The results of this research concluded that the proposed hypothesis was acceptable, namely that there was an influence of using short Braille writing on the skills of copying short story texts for blind students at SLB N A Pajajaran, Bandung City. This can be proven by looking at the results of the pre-test and post-test that have been carried out and tested using the Wilcoxon test. It is hoped that the results of this research can be a recommendation for teachers to use Braille short writing as an alternative to improving the skills of copying short story texts for blind students at SLB N A Pajajaran.
