Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya literasi informasi peserta didik dalam
pembelajaran sejarah di kelas XII IPS I SMAK Kalam Kudus Bandung. Rendahnya literasi
informasi ini terlihat dari ditemukannya kesalahan informasi sejarah yang tidak sesuai, peserta
didik menyerap secara utuh informasi yang ada, dan peserta didik belum dapat menyajikan
informasi dengan maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan literasi informasi
peserta didik melalui pemanfaatan media YouTube. Pada tahap perencanaan, peneliti
menggunakan YouTube sebagai media pembelajaran utama dengan memaksimalkan
pemanfaatan informasi yang terdapat dalam video YouTube. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran sejarah
dengan menggunakan YouTube untuk meningkatkan literasi informasi peserta didik
dilaksanakan sebanyak III siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan literasi
informasi peserta didik melalui pemanfaatan video YouTube pada setiap siklusnya. Penelitian ini
menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan desain Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Pada
siklus I persentase literasi informasi peserta didik mencapai 33% yang menunjukkan bahwa
literasi informasi siswa masih rendah dikarenakan pemanfaatan video YouTube sebagai sumber
informasi belum maksimal. Pada siklus II rata-rata persentase literasi informasi siswa sudah
mengalami peningkatan menjadi 66% yang menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik sudah memiliki
literasi informasi yang cukup dikarenakan terdapat kenaikan pada setiap indikatornya. Pada
siklus III terjadi peningkatan dengan jumlah 92%, dan dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan
bahwa pemanfaatan YouTube dapat meningkatkan literasi informasi peserta didik dalam
pembelajaran sejarah di kelas XII IPS 1 SMAK Kalam Kudus Bandung.

This research was motivated by the low information literacy of students in learning history in
class XII IPS I SMAK Kalam Kudus Bandung. This low level of information literacy can be seen
from the discovery of inappropriate historical information, students completely absorb the
existing information, and students are not yet able to present the information optimally. The aim
of this research is to increase students' information literacy through the use of YouTube media.
At the planning stage, researchers used YouTube as the main learning media by maximizing the
use of information contained in YouTube videos. The implementation of history learning using
YouTube to increase students' information literacy was carried out in three cycles. The research
results showed that there was an increase in students' information literacy through the use of
YouTube videos in each cycle. This research uses the Classroom Action Research method with
a Kemmis and Mc Taggart design. In cycle I, the percentage of students' information literacy
reached 33%, which shows that students' information literacy is still low because the use of
YouTube videos as a source of information has not been maximized. In cycle II, the average
percentage of students' information literacy increased to 66%, which shows that students already
have sufficient information literacy due to an increase in each indicator. In cycle III there was an
increase of 92%, and thus it can be concluded that the use of YouTube can increase students'
information literacy in history learning in class XII IPS 1 SMAK Kalam Kudus Bandung.
