Abstract

This research aims to obtain an overview of the achievements and improvements in mathematical problem-solving abilities and mathematical resilience of students who receive learning using the guided inquiry model as well as the influence of students' level of mathematical resilience on mathematical problem-solving abilities. The research was carried out using quantitative research methods. This research is quasi-experimental research with a pretest posttest non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study was class VIII students in one of the junior high schools in Bandung City. Sample of this research carried out using purposive sampling technique. The data collection process in this research used test and non-test instruments. Test instruments are given to students before and after students get the treatment. The data analysis technique used the parametric independent sample T-Test and simple linear regression test and the Mann Whitney non-parametric test. In this research, the material presented is a system of linear equations in two variables. The results of this study indicate that (1) The achievement of mathematical problem solving abilities of students who received scientific learning with the guided inquiry model was higher than students who received scientific learning (2) The increase in mathematical problem solving abilities of students who received scientific learning with the guided inquiry model was higher than students who received scientific learning, (3) The level of mathematical resilience of students who received scientific learning with a guided inquiry model was better than students who received scientific learning, (4) Achievements of mathematical resilience of students who received scientific learning with a guided inquiry model and students who received scientific learning scientific learning is in the medium category, (5) The level of students' mathematical resilience has an effect of 68.5% on the mathematical problem solving abilities of students in the experimental class who receive scientific learning using the guided inquiry model.
