Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk media Video Islamic Theology of Natural Phenomena (VITONA) yang valid dan teruji dalam mendukung peningkatkan kemampuan eksplanasi ilmiah serta menumbuhkan sikap spiritual dan attitude toward earth science mahasiswa program Sarjana Pendidikan Fisikamelalui perkuliahan IPBA yang menggunakan model PhenoBL. Media VITONA dikembangkan dengan metode Design and Development Research (DDR) Tipe 2. Media VITONA yang dikembangkan memiliki karakteristik: (a) Dikemas dalam bentuk media video fenomena benda nyata dan animasi; (b) Ada narator yang menarasikan isi video; serta (c) memiliki bagian sebagai berikut: 1) paparan umum fenomena yang ditinjau, 2) paparan tentang dampak fenomena dalam bentuk bencana, 3) paparan tentang akibat jika fenomena yang ditinjau tidak terjadi di Bumi, dan 4) paparan aspek theology dari fenomena alam yang ditinjau diperkuat keterangan ayat Al-Qur’an. Implementasi media VITONA pada perkuliahan IPBA yang menggunakan model PhenoBL dilakukan terhadap 30 mahasiswa dengan perlakuan kontrol berupa perkuliahan IPBA menggunakan model PhenoBL tanpa menggunakan media VITONA yang juga dilakukan terhadap 30 mahasiswa pada kelas eksperimen. Kemampuan jenis dan level eksplanasi ilmiah mahasiswa diukur dengan menggunakan tes jenis eksplanasi ilmiah dan tes level kemampuan eksplanasi ilmiah, sikap spiritual mahasiswa di identifikasi dengan angket sikap spiritual, sedangkan attitude toward earth science mahasiswa diidentifikasi dengan skala attitude toward earth science. Peningkatan kemampuan jenis eksplanasi ilmiah dan level kemampuan eksplanasi ilmiah ditentukan dengan menggunakan konsep N-Gain berdasarkan skor pretest dan postest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi model PhenoBL didukung media VITONA pada perkuliahan IPBA di kelas eksperimen secara signifikan dapat lebih meningkatkan kemampuan jenis eksplanasi ilmiah dan level kemampuan eksplanasi ilmiah dibanding implementasi perlakuan di kelas kontrol. Implementasi model PhenoBL didukung media VITONA dapat meningkatkan sikap spiritual mahasiswa dan memperbaiki attitude toward earth science dari sebagian besar mahasiswa. Hasil-hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa produk media VITONA memiliki potensi yang baik untuk digunakan dalam mendukung perkuliahan IPBA yang menggunakan model PhenoBL dan berorientasi pada peningkatan kemampuan eksplanasi ilmiah, sikap spiritual dan attitude toward earth science mahasiswa. This research aims to produce a valid and tested Video Islamic Theology of Natural Phenomena (VITONA) media product to support increasing scientific explanation abilities as well as fostering a spiritual attitude and attitude toward earth science for students in the Bachelor of Physics Education program through IPBA lectures using the PhenoBL model. VITONA media was developed using the Type 2 Design and Development Research (DDR) method. The VITONA media developed has the following characteristics: (a) Packaged in the form of real thing and animation video media; (b) There is a narrator who narrates the video content; and (c) has the following sections: 1) a general explanation of the phenomenon under review, 2) an explanation of the impact of the phenomenon in the form of disasters, 3) an explanation of the consequences if the phenomenon under review does not occur on Earth, and 4) an explanation of the theological aspects of natural phenomena which is reviewed and strengthened by information from the verses of Al-qur’an. The implementation of VITONA media in Earth and Space Science (ESS) lectures using the PhenoBL model was carried out on 30 students with control treatment in the form of ESS lectures using the PhenoBL model without using VITONA media which was also carried out on 30 students. Students' scientific explanation type and level abilities were measured using scientific explanation type tests and scientific explanation ability level tests. Students' spiritual attitudes were identified using a spiritual attitude questionnaire, while students' attitudes toward earth science were identified using the attitude toward earth science scale. Increasing the ability of scientific explanation types and the level of scientific explanation ability is determined using the N-Gain concept based on pretest and posttest scores. The results of the research show that the implementation of the PhenoBL model supported by VITONA media in ESS lectures in the experimental class can significantly improve the type of scientific explanation ability and the level of scientific explanation ability compared to the implementation of the treatment in the control class. Implementation of the PhenoBL model supported by VITONA media can improve students' spiritual attitudes and improve the attitude toward earth science of most students. These results show that VITONA media products have good potential to be used to support IPBA lectures that use the PhenoBL model and are oriented towards increasing students' scientific explanation abilities, spiritual attitudes and attitudes toward earth science.
