Abstract

ABSTRACT The correct application of small side games treatment in extracurricular futsal at school can have an impact on optimal futsal playing skills and influence several aspects of cognitive function and aspects of physical fitness. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of small side games treatment on cognitive function, physical fitness and shooting skills of futsal extracurricular participants at school. The method used in this research is an experiment with a one group pretest-posttest design. The instrument in this research used the 1984 Indonesian Workshop Physical Fitness Test. The validity and reliability of physical fitness for appropriate age groups has been stated (Nurhasan, 2007), then the cognitive function data used the Concentration Grid Test (Yazid et al, 2016) and the Digit Span Test (Turner and Ridsdale, 2004). . and TPA (Academic Potential Test) (Sihombing & Setiyawan, 2010) which has been tested for validity and reliability, then collects data on shooting skills (Maulana, 2009). Valid and reliable instruments are a requirement for obtaining valid and reliable research results ( Negara et al., 2019 ). The population in this study were all students who took part in the futsal core extracurricular at SMPN 12 Bandung (experiment), totaling 20 students and all students who took the core futsal extracurricular at SMPN 1 Cimahi (control), totaling 20 students. Data analysis in this study used an independent t test to determine whether there was a significant difference in influence between the (experimental) group (small side game treatment) and the (control) group (not treated) and then processed with assistance. SPSS 25 application. Based on the processing and analysis of the data obtained, it shows that there is a significant effect of small side games treatment on cognitive function, physical fitness and shooting skills. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of small sided games treatment has a significant influence on the cognitive function, physical fitness and shooting skills of futsal extracurricular participants at school.
